2 days, 2 different caterpillar shops... Talk about being p*d off!
We got this great truck, an 08 freightliner Columbia-Heritage edition (ooolala), Super nice, runs great, only had 8000 miles when the co. gave it to us...We've heard from other drivers that these trucks are in the shop a lot, but we put 30 thou. miles on it with no prob... until yesterday... engine light comes on... the dreaded emission problems start to happen... Engine light comes on... truck slows down to 60mph, 55mph, 50mph, and so on...so we limp it over to the shop... it has more gunk in it then a truck with quadruple the miles... they call it emulsion build up... so they do what they do to fix it.. but they really didn't, because the same crap happens again this morning...so we're stuck in a hotel b/c this shop say's that the other shop didn't know what they were doing, yada yada yada... well rumor has it that no one really knows what they are doing when it comes to working on this new emission system, and it's basically trial and error... and along with that problem, they found that the truck has been running too cool, causing moisture build up...
So anyway, has anyone else had the pleasure of experiencing probs with the new trucks?
I'm ready to ask for an older model with about a million miles..lol
