it was announced today to those affected that as of 0.0 Sat, they will be laying off ANOTHER 10 guys from the dock....that brings our number of laid off up to around 85-90 men.....this means basically HALF the workforce @ 671 w/s is now laid off...I understand the economy sucks right now, I understand that our freight levels are down 15% from last year at this time, BUT.... when did 15% equal 50% of the workforce? for those of you think seniority is everything, when it comes time to merge operations, our next round of layoffs will hit guys with 19 years seniority..... THAT'S RIGHT, 19 years.....and remember, we are still running at FULL CAPACITY....every shift works 2 hours mandatory o/t everyday, some guys work 12....there are still 6 and 7 punches EVERY WEEK, and still corporate says lay more off.....when does it end here? when the freight is piled up to the roof and there is nobody left to work it? What about service? Apparently it doesn't really matter to a company that has it's own agenda to implode from within......GOD BLESS US ALL.... the end is coming fast.....ICEBERG DEAD AHEAD.....the g-man
