As a driver for FedEx Freight, we were told NOT to say anything bad about YRC or DHL. Now, I don't know what the sales force is doing, and I know that FedEx Express is probably gunning hard for DHL business, but I haven't heard anything about lying to your customers to get the freight. I could be wrong because I'm just a peon, but it doesn't make business sense to me to start off a relationship with a customer by lying to them. But then, this is FedEx, and they are getting pretty good at pulling the wool over eyes.

With the inflexibility they are designing into their new procedures, you can bet that we would simply choke on freight if you guys bought it. And having friends that work for both Yellow and Roadway, I sincerely hope you guys do not buy it.

If Fedex wasn't so picky about what they picked up they would truly choke on the freight. When I ran a city route we picked up a lot of stuff from these two auto-junk-part places. One place might have one or two but the other one would have like half a trailer or more every day. Granted it was crap no one wanted to haul like car doors (with Glass intact), motors, transmissions and my favorite was the half a car that they would ship that you couldn't put it on decking even though it didn't weigh very much because there wasn't any really good way to pick it up. We had a chance to land a multi-million dollar account back during the summer. The sales guy worked on the pricing for I know over 3 months. They made trips up there and every thing seemed ready to go and then bam, nothing. No freight, no explanation or anything. I think what it boiled down to was a city driver was going to have be there all day moving Fedex trailers and other trailers there on their yard. They didn't want the city guy just hanging out all day with out any supervision and having the libiltiy of moving other equipment as well. ABF had the account and they knew going into it the situation about the driver. If they weren't going to take it serious about the new business why have the sales guy wrack his brain all that time. Its like the left hand doesn't know what the right one is doing and they don't give a rats backside if it works or it don't.

Thats probably the best it could be said. I understand the DHL but Im with you on the freight side. RDWY driver.

3.43 dollars a share is almost junk status.....I know it is tacky for another company to do that. And I for one didn't pass any of those things out nor did ALOT of the guys in my barn. I know it inconceivable to think it, but it is what it is. Unless something happens, the inevitable WILL happen. I know that Yellow and Holland are both hauling freight for no profit or losing money on the shipments. That is just plain stupid. But it is happening. God Bless All of you drivers for YRC. In the end we are all brother truckers.

I am not saying that you are totally wrong but keep in mind you are drinking the Fedex kool aid.
