Who cares what the other guy says ? We are giving away freight by stupid dispatching and playing silly little number games in management instead of just doing our jobs. At our barn they run us drivers over each other the coustomers see this and just shake their heads. We have no set runs so we don't get to know our coustomers like we used to on bid runs we don't know lunch times or breaktimes so waste a lot of time waiting. They switch us from run to run on a day to day basis and depending on which one of us has pi$$ed them off yesterday. It's these kind of silly little child games that cost us money and costomers.Other truck lines send the same driver to the same customers every day they get to know each other very well and in walks a different yellow driver and looks like a bastard child at a family reunion cause he don't go there every day.. 35 years in this business and we have the worst local mngmt I have ever seen , no wonder we can't keep customers, they watch us and see how badly things are run at our barn and wonder what the rest of the system is like this .I've had many coustomers ask ;WHO IN THE HELL IS RUNNING THINGS THERE ? I just laugh and say ROCKET SCIENTIST. We could make YRC some money if they would make us a dark terminal

I can remember back 97 or 98 someone was folding up (been too many to remember) and a few of our drivers were securing freight by telling the customers the rumors. Man the TM called our collective arse into the office and explained we were breaking anti-trust laws and he was'nt going to be sued for our dumb arses. Did the laws change since then? Has anybody actuly got a copy of one of these emails? I would think the legal department would know what to do with it.

well may not be exactly whats needed, but i was on Sirius sat radio. and got kinda pissed when one of the invited guest said there were two kinds of people in trucking.

1 the go getters generally people wanting to become o-o's
and then there were the ones who joined unions. she said we were wanting stuff handed to us

after pointing out most of the union drivers had many years in trucking they probably had thought about becoming an o-o but decided they wernt that retarded

also point out several fed ex terminals in the north east had signed to join the teamsters and it process was slow atm it would improve greatly when the new law making it easy to join a union was enacted.

only handout i really want is a nice big bat. guess why

What's to deny, most have seen it in black and white...I haven't yet, but my drivers have seen it at various customers...Most of the customers react with anger and/or laughter...seems FX will stoop to whatever means right now to put the freight on their trailers..Customers do not like to be thought of as stupid, and they consider these things as an insult to their intelligence..

Point well said as it was a problem at our barn cause we got supervisors that were never in the industry making decisions.
Got so bad I got discharged for insorbination and failure to follow instruction. Was reduced to a 1 day suspension as I made my point that the instructions I were to follow were doomed for failure as I made a right judgement call. . Got the task done and made service on the time critical.

My point is that we have to take back our docks, runs and freight cause we are closest to the task. No disrespect to management but if you don't what the heck you are doing get out of my way and let me work so I can do my job. If I do mess up I am big enough to man up for my mistake. I deliver what freight is put on my peddle and take care of our customers needs. If we as freight people are held accountable for our actions so should management cause we teamster undo more mistakes by management than make ourselves.

Sorry about that had to get it off me, FedEx games here are that their drivers are following me on my run writing down the customers I p&d to. Know for a fact as one followed me to a customer that was on a dead end street that ended up in a car dealership lot. I knew he was tailing me cause I knew he would catch hell trying to turn around there which he did cause there was no pick up for them.
