because I can tell he is thinking like most of the doom and gloomers in this forum. He thinks that the economy has no bearing on our predicament. In other words, if the economy this year had been "firing on all cylinders," YRCW would still be losing money because of poor management or what have you.

If a poster is not intelligent enough to see that most of this stuff that YRCW is doing is designed to buy time until the economy improves, that person should stop posting and go sign on to Nickelodeon's web site to find some subjects he can understand!

YRC was losing $$ way before this economy hit, try coming up with some new material.

My positive spin is that they are still paying my bills and i will continue to give them an honest days work for my pay,,,so bite me!!!!

unbelievable, the people at NEMF think i'm YRC and vice versa...lol, lol...hey, let me simplify this for ya..you need to make money period..i dont care if u sold ur shares to the devil..he's gonna want his money back.....show me the comprehensive plan to become profitable....ok..wage concessions..done that,not paying into the pension, done that, close terminals and lay thousands off, done that....and u still lost 160 million......how is this turning around..doom or gloom u still need to make money......show me the money...stop the b.s. saying this will keep us afloat, because my brotha,another salesman just quit and hes takin accts..this is happening all over the country....i'm glad ur positive...i have the half full philosophy also....but , dont piss on my leg and tell me its raining..mamma didnt raise no fool....

That is where you are sadly mistaken. Con-way had improved daily tonnage and posted a pretty hefty loss. Don't you see the connection? How long can they haul freight at a loss with their predatory pricing. You scoffed again when I said YRC is letting them keep on trucking with that freight. Ok. It looks like we are gonna find out who can haul freight the longest for free. Yrc, even with their debt and now with the debt swap assuming it happens can do it with the best of em. I've seen them do it. They are good at it

I do see the connection. And again, Joe, you're mixing up my scoffs. I scoffed when you said YRCW was "playing broke" - you know, when you tried to make it look like they really have a mountain of cash and that this is just a game.

I don't think so. If the moon and stars align for YRCW they'll have about $280M in cash plus whatever they get for the urinal at the Biloxi, MS terminal when they figure out a sale/leaseback for that. They will burn through that in about 3 quarters - but I'll be generous and give them 4 - 9/30/10.

Meanwhile, Fed Ex and UPS have mountains of cash, let alone their package subs that can float them. CNW can continue their aggressiveness and be about break even. I don't see how you think this game can be played forever.
