Cool YRCW Enjoying HUGE Wage & Benefits Differential From ABF!

YRCW carriers have a HUGE wage and benefits differential from ABF who is still paying full NMFA scale! I crunched the numbers and came up with a total yearly difference of at least $23,462.40 a year (based on a flat 40 hours a week) at city driver/local cartage wage. Check this out...

ABF City Driver (Central States Supplement, Ohio Rider)
Wages

Hourly $23.21
Weekly $928.40
Monthly $4023.06
Yearly $48276.80

H&W (effective 8-1-09)

Weekly $271.70
Monthly $1177.37
Yearly $14128.40

Pension

Daily $60.80
Weekly $304.00
Monthly $1317.33
Yearly $15808.00

Total Wages & Benefits $78,213,20

YRCW City Driver (Central States Supplement, Ohio Rider)
Wages (reduced from NMFA scale by 15% per the MOU)

Hourly $19.73
Weekly $789.20
Monthly $3419.87
Yearly $41038.40

H&W (only 20 cents of the 40 cents 8-1-09 increase per the MOU)
Weekly $263.70
Monthly $1142.70
Yearly $13712.40

Pension (18 month suspension of pension contributions per
the MOU. Was supposed to be $304.00 per week effective with the .60 per hour increase on 8-1-09)

Daily $0
Weekly $0
Monthly $0
Yearly $0

Total Wages & Benefits $54750.80

YEARLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YRCW CITY DRIVER AND ABF CITY DRIVER TOTAL COMPENSATION IS A MINIMUM (40 HOURS A WEEK) OF...
Yearly $23462.40
Monthly $1955.20
Weekly $451.20
Hourly $11.28

We've given all we can give! Now it's up to YRCW execs to keep the banks and bondholders happy by running this company the RIGHT way! Hang on! It's gonna be a really bumpy ride the next 14 months!

If you have a family and need medical care , you might be in for a suprise when you get the bill for services for your 20cents on the dollar H&W benefits. Better have money in the check book for your next dental visit !!! You sound like a non union guy that tells me he makes less in salary, less in H&W and has no pension contribution but he is doing better than a union guy at full rate even though you have to work 50 + hrs. to make what a full rate union worker does in 40 hrs. YRC is leading this trainwreck of bad freight rates and pay reductions !! Ask any non union guy that has to take a reduction, it is directly affected by what the union carriers are having to do. What do you mean by running the company "the right way" ???

YRC may have a cost advantage over most if not all the major nons too. Con-Way is giving back part of the wage concession in Jan at a cost of $25 million on top of calling back a lot of laid off drivers to handle the predatory freight. That will be interesting
