JUST LETTING EVERYBODY KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE A DAY OFF WORK AND DRIVE 100 MILES LIKE I DID TODAY FOR NOTHING. TSA SAID TO BRING MY CURRANT CDL AND MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE WELL WHEN I GOT UP THERE MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE THAT I HAVE HAD FOR 50 YRS WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM . NOW THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE HAS TO HAVE A SEAL ON IT THAT IS RAISED UP SO THEY CAN FEEL IT. NOW I HAVE TO WAIT TO GET A NEW ONE FROM MISSOURI THEN TAKE ANOTHER DAY OFF THEN DRIVE 100 MILES AND TRY IT AGAIN SO EVERYBODY MAKE SURE YOURS HAS A SEAL ON IT BEFORE YOU GO OR THEY WON'T ACCEPT IT WHAT A JOKE AND THEY WONDER WHY NO BODY WANTS TO GET A HAZMAT ENDORSMENT. FOR ALL THAT WE GO THRU WITH OUR LICENSE THESE DAYS WE NEED TO BE PAID A LOT MORE THAN WE ARE GETTING . I WAS READY TO GIVE UP AND QUIT TODAY MY DAUGHTER HAD TO CALM ME DOWN AND DO ALL THE CALLING AROUND TODAY I WAS JUST TO MAD TO TALK TO ANYBODY I THINK MY BLOOD PRESSURE WENT UP ALOT TODAY GOOD THING I DID'NT HAVE TO GO FOR A PHYSICAL I WOULD NOT HAVE PASSED THE BLOOD PRESURE TEST

Thanks for the heads up. You're right, for all the hoops we have to jump through to do this job the compensation should be a lot more than what it is. It's ludacris to have to make an appointment for a 5 minute fingerprint session anyway.

Even more ludicrous to have to re-print every time you have to renew. Last I checked your fingerprints don't change aside from acid, an industrial accident or a nail file and lots of booze...
 
New federal regulations are being implemented by states in regards to CDL's , I went to an IL facility to downgrade mine to intrastate only and found I needed a stamped copy of my birth certificate also. It is total BS, I have a hazmat endorsement that required a certified copy of birth certificate and fingerprints when I renewed it, now they are telling me I have to prove who I am again. Maybe if the a-holes in government kept better track of who they let into this country they wouldn't need to do this stuff.

From the IL DMV website:

"On July 1, 2015, new federal standards for commercial driver's license (CDL) knowledge and skills testing and the issuance of commercial's learner's permits (CLP) will take effect.

Effective July 1, 2015, when a CDL Holder or CLP applicant visits a facility for initial issuance, renewal, transfer or upgrade, the driver will be required to show proof of legal presence and domicile. This is a one-time requirement for the CDL holder or CLP applicant, who is a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent resident."

So how do you go about getting the one with the raised stamp on it, also I recently moved and need to do a address change? Lord knows what I'll need to do that!!!!

Usually you get a stamped (certified) birth certificate from the Health Dept in the County where you were born. A quick phone call should get the answer. It could also be called Dept of vital records.

In NJ for years they give you a list of documents to bring, they have 3 columns and you have to bring something from each column. You do get a choice of a birth certificate or a US Passport.
 
The last time I went for mine I conveyed this information to the finger printing officer. Very congenially of course.

And that is what he told me.
I have a seal stamper if anyone wants to send me their birth certificate I'll give you a raised stamp on it free of charge.

i say its about time to eliminate all this bs we all now its a money grab.... its a joke

Yea they said that about the "one time" fingerprinting also.
