anybody know when they are going to start running freight thru c-bus again??
been 25 drivers laidoff since jan-1st and it dont seem to be getting any better?
rumors are the hall asked for another 10 to be laid off because the extra board is starving on the bottom while roadway and holland are hiring drivers directly out of driving school??
just not making any since to me. maybe some of you older hands can explain the situation / i keep telling myself patience- but im starting to get antsy its already 2nd week of june
hellllp!!!

Duh...

We told your Stewards that they were running Indy loads right past you guys. The old farts on the COL bids were crying that "we don't want to run it, it's too far." Yellow is doing exactly what it wants. It moves drivers around with impunity because of bad language that the Freight division lets them get away with. "The company reserves the right to move freight through relay, via's and whatever means necessary to service it's customers." Every change has it.....and every time, the Agents sign it. The last change in the east, the NJ end of the lines were supposed to gain 2 or 3 drivers each to service CVE loads that were no longer going to be pulled by teams. Guess what happens when they don't have CVE loads or the east is flooded with CVE drivers on reversal? Give up? They go to Raphine....out of Raphine they come back through LCP. That Zaps our SUP board and our turn board as these drivers take loads home or to PNJ, EDS, LIZ, ALE, SCR, PHI, CDN, CNJ, QNS, MVY and so on and so forth. I sat home last night and I bet you dimes to dognuts that there were NJ domiciled drivers passing through out of Raphine. We in LCP are dead in the water as far as the grievance procedure is concerned. Our concerns fall on DEAF ears....

Times are changing. The good old days are gone for good and they aren't coming back. Zollars owns the whole show, and if you think that Roadways rise has nothing to do with Yellows decline, I have some swamp property you just might be interested in. Of course, once all the new hires at Roadway reach 100% and Yellow has trimmed down it's seniority, it will be deja vu all over again. The only big difference will be there won't be that big bunch of guys at 100% following the work on changes as they won't have the money to do it.

yo UW.

that language you're referring to was inserted into the first COO around 1992......

it was put into there to do exactly what you said it is doing, move freight most efficiently....

if we got 11 hours to drive and contractually we are obligated to utilize our hours to the max then, longer runs are here to stay and the people who are in a position to embrace or hinder these longer runs are not the guys getting hurt....

there are dozens of possibilities where every domicile is in jeopardy of losing work because of being overrun (be thankful fuel is high or how about 64 mph trucks).....

i say run the big rides and make the big bucks and retire as early as you can.....

in MBK i was running 360 a night, out here in STL i'm doing 545 and i'm healthier, go figure....

mikeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Seems to me a big part of the problem is the addition of linehaul drivers to the end of line terminals. These are guys who are just about guaranteed to run every night, whereas the hub guys, especially the extra board (who have the hardest job in the linehaul division) get crapped on.

You got that right Brother! Unless there is change at the top, the panels will stay the same. Hoffa spends way too much time with politicians and not enough time battling employers....

There you go again with your obvious ignorance kuk1210. This stuff went on when Cary was in office and you probably never said a word. You all had your chance at the big time, and what did you do with it? We damned near went bankrupt, that's what. Don't think I want to go down that road again. Go back to drinking your kool-aid.

Flattop,
Kuk has posted 6 times....each one added nothing to the Boards in any discussion or debate....just the anti Hoffa/Leedham is great line. I think he's had way too much TDU Koolaid.

Stldude44, Yeh, I think your right. The same line of crap. Hey give buck a pat on the head for me if your home.
I will....man, he's getting old.....almost 13 now.....all he does is sleeps and goes outside to do his thing. It's not really him in my avatar, but it looks just like him.

You got tyhat right. It makes me glad we have teams at CGB when it gets slow. Not all of those end of the line drivers have good bids though. Last night at SAG I saw there bids and they had 3 CGB laydowns(303) and some short turns. and the top guy had an RFO turn (516). So yeah they might get out alot but running three CGB laydowns a week ain't gonna make you good money.

I could not have said it better myself. Martin Luther King said it best when he said justice delayed is justice denied! Who's who? Not you.....:)
