i have an interview with holland on tuesday. can someone give me an idea of what starting pay is, benefits, vacation time?

I think starting pay for city is $15.80 or close to that. insurance after 90 days, Blue cross, no cost to the employee. Vacation is one week for the first year, available 7 months and 7 days after hire. 2 weeks after 2 years.

Around $18 to start and over a dollar raise each year until top scale. 1 week vacation after 1 year. 2 weeks after 2 years. Disablity, life insurance, health, dental, vision on you and your family all paid for. Most plans are $250(individual) $400 (family)deductible with $1000 max for individual $2000 max for family.

Agree with the other posts and each Terminal is a little different on starting pay & benefits due to which Local union they are in and most pay is in the $16 to $17.00 a hour , and know that you will most likely be on night shift for a while , and Holland is begging for Driver's so should be hired on the spot ! Good Luck to you ! & p.s. the loading dock suxs in winter when its -10 below zero !!

With the starting pay being so low, and the company being desperate for drivers, it sounds like the YRCW companies should be able to get rid of their Human Resources/hiring department and save some money.
I found a cheaper alternative for hiring new drivers that the Terminal Managers can administer.
This interviewing process will only take the Terminal Manager a few minutes. And if time is short, the TM can just skip straight to number 5.

I am sure that you already realize this, but when a new employee has to start out in the pay raising process, at something like 80% of the top pay, coupled with a 15% pay reduction, the starting pay is terrible. Veteran drivers are not going to leave their current employer for that kind of pay cut. Plus, I have heard of several companies that are skipping the (low pay) raise portion, and starting new veteran drivers out at the second and third year pay scale.
Holland needs to realize this.......

If I was you I would be very confused, you ask what you would think would be a very easy question and get six different answers. The current hourly wage is real close to 21.00 an hour and April first will go up about forty cents. The first year you make 85 percent of that wage, the second year 90 percent of that and the third year 95 percent. Finally in the fourth year you are at one hundred percent. The health insurance is very good. The pension is a disaster, they are only paying in twenty five percent of what they should be, it is very possible when the new contract happens, if the new contract happens, in April 2019 there will be some major shake up in the pension, but it is anybody's guess. What terminal are you applying at? If you can find a city driver from that exact terminal on here they could probably give you a much better explanation of exactly what to expect. Like the other guys said some of the terminals are begging for drivers so it should not be very hard to get hired if you have two hands and know that red is stop and green is go. Good Luck, the guys all bitch every day about the place but it is still better than average to work for.

Dont bother. The place is an absolute joke. They have complete ****ing morons running the place. From the low level clipboard monkey all the way up to the head clown. But yeah, as long as you have a pulse and a face for the all important ID you should be good to go.
