I was just wondering when are they going start rebranding to Con-Way Freight. Havent seen anything new, somebody let me know something.
 
saw one of the new, rebranded pups last night at NAT terminal up-close. We're also getting the new tractors now too, plain white w/black chassis:peepingtom:
 
i am not sure whats goin but i purchased a conway freight t shirt of the company store internet site. its plain gray and all it says was conway freight i was told we are not supposed to wear anything with the new logo yet? now some memphis and humbolt tn drivers had the new uniform hat. and its ok to wear the hat but a t shirt to work the dock in.

I have seen the new tee-shirts all over and nothing has been said to anyone I knew.They did say something about my kool-aid sign on my shirt.
 
Last year Conway hired all these people hoping to have a big kick on other LTL companies such as Yellow,Roadway,FedEx,and UPS.Guess what Con-way got burned.For example all other companies raised there rates and tariff rates at 2% and 3%.Conway raised there rates at 6%.So when that happened Conway lost alot of companies and freight as well.Conway is also on the brink of losing the Wal-Mart account as well.And if Conway does not change there ways of doing things alot more more will be lost like your job.Dave M and his cohorts in Ann Arbor,MI are angering front office staff,TM's,Regional Managers,and drivers as well cause they seem to not have it together.I know you guys that work for Conway Central see the same thing.For example they shutdown Ann Arbor,and Allentown for reships cause they are losing money.For those who don't see the sinking of the ship well you will go down with it along with the big captain Dave M.You all have your opinions and I respect that.If you raise your rates higher than your compition well that company will not be around to much longer.I 've seen it happen and those companies are no longer around.

I agree with you Knighthawk, same crap going on down in the southern region too. Last Wed, 8 guys on the board did'nt run, and 5 others(included myself) have'nt seen the inside of a Sterling for nearly 3weeks!! Maxing out at 25-30hrs on the dock. Rumor has it that CWTL(truckload) are taking most of the southwest/west coast freight that was once reserved for 3-4 linehaul guys. CWTL is even hiring solo drivers on their website for southeast regional runs!!! I saw it coming though, and I can't get mad about it, its business on CWF's part(why pay 3 or 4 guys to ship freight halfway to destination when you can get a CWTL driver to deliver it straight to point B for 1 rate?):duh: 4pups=1 53 footer "hight & tight"

Its getting to the point where we're starting to hate coming in everyday and only working 4-5hrs.I've been trying to leave, but other co.s keep saying I need 1yr under the belt, but hell, in 1yr I may be homeless if I continue to roleplay with CWF's dramatic bs.BTW, management is a bunch of pompous, arrogant jerks, now I know what my cdl stands for(Con-way/ Dock/ License)
 
FINALLY!! i am not the only one who beleives this company is going to hell in hand basket! ! ever since mr.m took charge we have lost customers,freight ,good employees and most of all MORALE. nobody in this companay gives a damn about anything but a paycheck. mr.m if your reading this do us all a favor and step down so we can get someone in here who cares about the company and employees!!!! you dont need the money ,.let me rephrase that YOU DONT DESERVE!! the money cnw has paid you .
 
Im a city driver from Roadway's Brooklyn NY terminal so I'm not from Conway, but maybe the following ties in to what you are saying.

Two drivers from CCX's Maspeth terminal left CCX (1 went to New Penn the other came to Roadway) because, according to these guys, morale has taken a hit. A long time driver was fired for taking off the Friday before his vacation week or some such infraction (I don't know all the details). The thinking of these two guys was, "If they can do it to him, they can do it to me."

The guy who came to Roadway thinks that they're trying to get rid of all the higher paid oldtimers and replace them with lesser paid newbies. Some of the new hires are said to be a horror show.

It is my opinion that upper management in any trucking company does not go around giving orders to cut higher paid employees. However, some terminal managers might interpret some memo to "ecomomize" or "cut cost" as a signal to get rid of top pay people and hire lesser paid newbies.

hey brother, im with NP and that guy that you're referring to, who got fired, is with us and almost on the list. and what a coincidence, he's in his 40's. alot older than what's working their now. we got a total of 5 guys from there. 2 got fired and 3 quit. they hate that they have no voice on the job, get rushed to deliver & pick-up, and to top it off, rushed back to the tm. by 6:30. out of those 5 guys, 4 of them are in their late 30's, early 40's. hmmmmmmmmmm ?
 
I agree a 100 percent. I am going to look for a part time job or switch companies I am at top wage. but i have a family to take care of and they come first. The upper management needs to get off there high horse and quit making stupid decissions. They worry about overtime and miss pick ups. We need to buy them a alarm clock so they wake up.
 
It is obivious something is going on at headquarters.I have spoken to supervisors and they believe the worst is yet to come.One supervisor told me and I'm being honest that Con-way is being investigated by the SEC and the FBI for insider trading.And Dave M's name was brought up in the investigation.So like HUEY29 said Mr.M you need to step down as President of Con-way before we all get a petition to have you removed.We will go straight to the top if we have to.I was told in about two weeks Con-way is to post something about this investigation.

Where did you get the facts about the above message? I hope not from the supervisor, not saying that the supervisor would tell you an untruth. But we need facts before we can pass judgement about the above alleged doings. Hear say just not work. So if you would , please provide the facts, and some of us will look them up. Don`t wait for con-way to post something. That they will not do. Just the facts please, just the facts.

I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYE'S someone got a little wiff of coffee .. :chairshot: :duh: what the ... do you think several other people have been saying ... lawofone is correct ... if you do not know something to be a fact and can't produce the evidence to back you up one it try to refrain from spreading misinformation ... however if you got the goods by all means please share this informaton with the class because this is one of the only vessels of communications we as pee on's have:smilie_132:
 
If the facts are true, it will have far reaching implications. Give us the facts and we will post several ways of what will happen.
 
I do not have no facts.I do not have proof.All I am saying is that is what was told to me and two other drivers from a main supervisor.After he told us well I figure well let's see what happens.Is Conway under investigation to be frankly blunt after investigating it myself I found no TRUTH to what this supervisor told me.How I did it was looking at newspaper clips from Ann Arbor looking at wallstreet articles and nothing and I mean nothing was ever brought up about Conway except when they changed the name.So enough said.
 
Thank you Nighthawk. Con-way does have some problems. Dave M. is a small fish in the big picture. As time goes on, you and others will see things change. Please keep an open mind. And be ready to adapt.The best is yet to come. Question everything, and ask questions, you can not be fired for asking a question.
 
conway will be fine every company out there has to have a shake up now an then to stay on track.it will all die down they will not shake to hard because the do not want a union to come in so you will be fine.
