FedEx Freight | New options on Peterbilts

Good to see they're finally upfitting the trucks a bit. I can't say I understand why the step and catwalk delete even exists, but the rest is nice!

Finally! The catwalk topic was discussed at Spec Review Focus Meetings. We were told they were not necessary as we are discouraged (prohibited?) from climbing up there. Apparently upon further review, the need was validated.

Whoever figured that clearly never tried hooking up to an old Viking or West trailer with the central glad hands. I'm sure some genius bean counter figured out they could save a grand a unit or something.

Or to container chassis with recessed center mount glad hands.
John Smith was in our yard one day and I asked him about cat walks.
He said they didn't want us on them because of ice and snow safety issues.
I asked him WTF is ice and snow?

By far the most uncomfortable truck they have. Purdy, but sucks to drive
Don't be so harsh, Ice.
After all, they are looking out for your well being. We can't let you have such a cushy ride that you might fall asleep.

Now if you want, I'm sure they could find you one of the first 1700xxx west coast triple tractors to drive.
Those were brutal.

We were told at this years spec review that the Twin Screws would have Cat Walks and that they were working with the manufacturers on moving tanks ect to allow for Cat Walks and stepson the single screws. Looks like Pete complied. I'm curious now to see if KW and Freightliner did.

RC's new KW R189xx has a cat walk.

catwalks on rear of cab now you have to keep rear window clean so the camera that's mounted on the trailer can watch every move you make
