Never said anything about anyone hating anything.
I never claimed you did. Just making a general observation/comment.

If they have a good retirement package they have to work till 60 year oldKinda have to agree here to a point ,as have seen some really old driver's that can barley walk , and why do truck stops have handicap semi parking ?? How can they drive if Handicapped ?? and this is what they want is to keep you driving forever ,thanks to CSPF going broke !!
60? That's the average age here. No way can we even retire even though some of us want to. (me) . I'll look at 62. But I bet I cannot afford to live off what I get.If they have a good retirement package they have to work till 60 year old

Our retirement package is pretty well non existent.
I agree totally. But I also think that is sad. Working 60 hours per week while getting over 4 or 5 grand in the mail. Find a hobby, enjoy whats left of your life, dont die working. You see these stories of guys in their 80's saying "I've been driving truck for 60 years!" Not impressed pal. Feel bad for you.
The most important piece of advise I can offer, stay out of debt.I have watched this since the 80's. You will never change them. Besides, I had a break in service, and I can't draw my retirement until 65. That will be after the date CSPF is suppose to go bust. How will we make ends meet on Social Security alone? You and I may be forced to work as long as we can.
I am always learning, and the CSPF fiasco teaches me never say never.
Ha. . . Easy for some. Hard for others. Gotta keep the car running. Along with his the house . Only bought one NEW car in my life. Still have it but have to keep it running . 20 years old now. Advice is too late. Good for the young people. But always been good advice . And things just come up in later years that just well.....getcha....And drain savings. Too late for me. I was on the right track. But the wife and I fell off. No ones fault . Can't predict some things. We thought we had a pension . Didn't predict that. The most important piece of advise I can offer, stay out of debt.

I rely on me. . Myself... And....Mostly my wife! Lol.The most important piece of advice I can add to that is to never ever rely on anyone but yourself to provide for yourself in the present or in the future. Promises are just that - promises, not guarantees. The current state of the pension funds attest to that don't they.
I should of said long term debt. We all have to go in debt from time to time. There is a lot of interest free financing out there. The most important piece of advise I can offer, stay out of debt.
I was doing the same . Until medical problems came up with me and my wife was forced into disability retirement from the post office. We took a huge hit. Never saw it coming either. No matter how much you save the future may take it all in a blink of an eye.I should of said long term debt. We all have to go in debt from time to time. There is a lot of interest free financing out there.
That's what I finance with. The important thing is to pay the balance when it's due. Another thing, you need to have a monthly
plan. You need to budget your money. At the end of every month, I list all my expenses for the following month, including setting aside money to save, no matter how small the amount. I keep track of where all my incoming money is going.
I have tried to tell Wong about budgeting too. But he has a Visa maxed out just in golf fees!!!I should of said long term debt. We all have to go in debt from time to time. There is a lot of interest free financing out there.

Here's an interesting quote from a transportation trade publication journalist friend of mine in Washington, DC...
Hey! I’m an older driver now!
Actually, I think the biggest danger on the nation's highways is the high number of a@#h*&!s who want to drive 80 mph or faster when the posted limit is 65 mph. I see them cutting off trucks and weaving in and out of traffic all the time on I-95, I-270, I-495 in this area. Driving on I-95 going south is like being on America's Autobahn these days.
Did I mention half of them are yackin' on cell phones, even though they should know by now that's illegal? These aren't the older drivers, just the poorly trained, inconsiderate and self-absorbed masses who think their cars are extensions of their living rooms, kitchens or even bathrooms. Self-driving cars can't come quick enough!
Rant over.
I agree!

Remember when I-270 was just plain old 70-S? Two lanes from Frederick to Gathersburg and no damn traffic!
Ah! The good old days!
The very same thing can be said about truck drivers, add playing with the QualcomDid I mention half of them are yackin' on cell phones, even though they should know by now that's illegal?
