No thanks... Besides the company frowns on co-workers getting together away from the work place... I'll just watch it on tv like everyone else...

There's nothing wrong with the wages at R&L. Im here 5 years now ($22.47 per hr)...got a .50 cost of living raise annually. Give out great bonuses around Christmas time. I not a big fan of the stupid contest that they come up with, but they do have some great prizes. Cant beat the free resorts for our use in TN and FL. If they want to sponsor a race car...more power to them...it's their money. Sure helps having a winning racecar driver to help boost freight. It's the little things that make a difference to some people. I am happy with my situation currently. I will break 60k again this year.
 
sponsoring a race car is part of advertising companies HAVE to advertise. the freight business is a tough business to get and keep customers. nascar fans are VERY product (sponsor) loyal. i think it's a great way to advertise just ask FED-EX and UPS.
but why would the two biggest know anything about advertising?
more customers, more profit, more money for the family to spread around, maybe even in my pockets.
but i guess the FARMER DAN and can't see the big picture.

Great theory, but truth told Fed-X & UPS are
pitching to the home package delivery whereas the loyal fans can choose the carrier. R&L's customer base(corps.) could care less whos name is on whos car!
All the corporate decisions are based on price & service
 
i would say UPS and FED-EX do as much bus. to bus. deliveries as they do home deliveries.

as for who chooses the delivery company that goes to whoever pays the freight.

i guess by your theory nobody that makes a corporate decision watches NASCAR.
shipping managers have at they discretion choices to make in who gets what freight. it's not always based on price alone. why do you think freight companies give away pens, and notepads, and hats and all the other little trinket gifts, it's to sway the business there way AGAIN a form of advertising.
 
That is true but, if the service is as good and the price is less it doesn't mater if you give them a steak dinner. Price will always win out.
