Does anyone know of the location or dates of the new yards being built ?? Rumors are joliet and midway by Chicago is opening in October. Also is Texarkana currently building a new center if so when are they expecting to open?? Also post any other centers if you know of any and the address!!
 
SAV (Savannah, Ga) - just opened a new center a few weeks ago and it's super nice. They deserved/needed a new center, especially after spending the last 22 years in that dump they were in!!

RCH (Richmond, Va) - their new center is in the process of being built, not sure as to the size or the opening date.

HKY (Hickory, NC) - although their center isn't new (5 years old maybe), word is they're getting ready to break ground on a 30-40 door expansion.

GVN (Greenville, NC) - word is it won't be long before they break ground on a new center, not sure as to how big it will be.

WMN (Wilmington, NC) - word is there's plans in the works for a new center. Heard they had the land, just waiting on the Govt red tape. That's another location that needs a new center, their current place is a dump as well.

NEW (Newark, NJ) & SNW (South Newark, NJ) - heard a new center was being built and that they were going to combine the two centers once it opened but haven't gotten confirmation yet.

KNX (Knoxville, TN) - they're in the process of securing land for a new center.

They bought a terminal in Elizabeth Nj that Was empty for few years. Yellow had rented for years but has been gone. They cleaned it up nice , it's about 90-100 doors. They lost most of the front yard to make secure employee parking( can't leave cars on street due to area). The driver's said work from South NEWark will move there and then some work from Wayne will move to Newark. Elizabeth is supposed to open soon. They are building a terminal in North Arlington NJ, but from the pile of dirt that's there it will be a while.
 
Lima Ohio, Just off I75 and RT 65. Looks like a 100 door plus, not sure as I see it from I75. Fed X always has had a presence here, a small yard and term then took over Conways and then doubled in size here. Now they are in a Monster YARD and dock space. Not sure what is going on there, but moving on up. :1036316054:

You guys are building a new terminal in TXK again? We bought your old yard when you moved into the one you're in now, maybe we can do it again!

I know OD opened a terminal in Kings Mtn to alleviate some pressure from your Charlotte terminal but now we're hearing rumor that you guys are looking to build a new terminal in CLT because you've outgrown that one again...any truth to that rumor??

Not sure, but I wouldn't doubt it. That's what they said the long-term plan was, take immediate pressure off CLT with KMT and then eventually move to a bigger CLT facility. I don't know how far down the track we're talking but it will happen eventually.

Update....GVN (Greenville, NC) has a tentative move in date of Feb 2018

NW rumor that a superhub is being looked at to replace HMS (Hermiston ,Ore.) In Ellensburg, WA on I-90 to get better relays East-West, and to Southeast points. No facts yet, but but that's why there are rumors.

Um sure, makes about as much sense as HMS does to this old Viking.
Ought to really improve the transit time to BSE from the SAC hub.
 
Na..that way more drivers from sea can now be dock workers along with the SPO drivers cuz they certainly are not going to find any dock workers in Ellensburg unless they go to the college...GOOD luck and glad I left when I did..too many stupid decisions being made there, guess they can close HMS and put all those drivers out of a job. It will be easier for PT to get to SEA and every where else being that close to the west part of the state. Maybe you guys can get your freight in a reasonable time frame....
