No where in did I say that Mr Beyers directly caused my friends heart attack. I did point out however his confrontational behavior. That spin was started by someone who responded to my post...

Come on. You started a thread outside of the union thread with a title that only mentioned your "friend's" heart attack, and then devoted half the post to calling out a specific consulting firm and persuader that you've mentioned before. Just because you didn't say it doesn't mean you didn't say it. Just like the dolly cracks thread, where you pretend to hide an attack on the maintenance department behind your deep concern for our welfare. It's not the first time I've seen it, and not just from you, and I don't believe it's genuine.

It's straight out of the union sales playbook- we love the workers, care deeply about your future, but that evil company is out to get you and, my goodness, we've got to do something about it because we care. It's dishonest and it's an insult to our intelligence. You and your new friends are out for you and your friends.

On the other hand, you've got a bright future with the union once you get tired of waiting for that contract (that you'll never see). They always need more missionaries.

Think for a second. You do something because he got in you face then he wins. You get fired and that one less yes vote and he did his job
Come on!!! Are you not smart enough to not get caught? Pick your time for your battle, then execute it. Whatever tactic you choose for this battle, 0400 is a really good time to attack your adversary. Usually asleep this time of day & will never hear it coming. Recon the attack zone, & surrounding neighbors before launching your attack. It must be swift & brutal with no prisoners. Good luck. I know wishful thinking. Scare the crap out of them so they are looking over their shoulder every day of the rest of their life. Don't type or post about it, just do it. von.

If he had an actual myocardial infraction he will have to go through a12 week rehab program approved by the DOT
Yes from what I understand the Doctors backed off of the Heart attack diagnosis after further testing . That's good news for him nevertheless scary . He has to be released by company physician though before returning to work.I'm very happy it could have been worse.

This past summer I was volunteering at a summer camp for underprivileged youth and one of my fellow counselors suffered a heart attack during a canoe trip on the river. Very scary we nearly lost him . I can still see the fear on his face to this day.

Pretty funny after all that has gone on the last few years that anyone would let some loud mouth that don't even work here get under their skin. Gotta be a pretty weak minded idiot. You have a CDL. It all pays the same. Some many keep quitting and they ain't upset they did. Perspective people. Just calm the hell down.

You should be ashamed of yourself for using that driver as a tool to further your cause. No, you didn't outright say it, but the clear implication is that the company and the union busters are responsible, which is ridiculous.

If the guy did what you said, that is an easy ULP- but until I see one and it's upheld by the board, I'm calling BS on your story.

You owe that driver an apology. I know you're really into the message that you're selling, but that's a new low.
Of course you would take something like this statment out of context to further your anti Union stand I would venture to think that maybe this person doesn't think the same as you so to each their own, in my opinion the only one that owes someone an apology is you for your anti Union rant that you derected to him, thats my opinion!

It's hard to believe you actually took the time to type this garbage. Gene was absolutely right, the intent of the original post is shameful. I'm glad the guy is doing better but to try and tie it to the stress of a captive meeting is disgusting. I think a whole lot less of sucker for initiating this thread in this manner.

I'm starting a new thread about having high blood pressure because someone put a union card in my face. Surely you would care about the stress placed on us who do not like the Teamsters union?

Btw I'm not talking about individual Teamsters but as a whole, unless you're a Teamster. If so, you can take it personally

They posted the driver's name on the "Change to Win" site.

I was not surprised that I couldn't find his name in the corporate directory.

I'm sure the Teamsters would never invent a story like this...

There is a difference between a meeting a constructive informative meeting and a meeting that you are forced to attend a the presenter purposely becomes confrontational and aggressive. The company does not tolerate aggressive behavior from its employees thus the employees should not be subject to it either.
I 100% stand behind my post and have direct communication with the drivers involved and they want everyone to know what happened. I'm sorry it doesn't suit your narrative.

I suggested to you how to positively confirm how the driver mentioned is an employee of the Trenton terminal. I also think you should dig a little deeper by any means possible to further your conformation.
I am fully confident where your results will lead.
Please be sure to allow us all here to no your results .
Thx

Twist them turn them ... do what ever you want the facts stand. I'm sorry if this doesn't suit your needs.
No one needs to be subjected to that kind of stress be it from a union organizer getting in an employees face or from a persuader hired by the company. Those here who condem the man here for not holding up to that stress a being weak must realize this is a high stakes stressful situation to be in. I think you should refrain from those judgments until you have been directly involved in the process. It also shows how bad thing are when people are willing to put themselves in stressful difficult situations to try to make their workplace better.

That doesn't make sense- the context is what made it objectionable, and I said so.

So what you're saying is that we should respect each others' opinions by not offering any counter opinions, is that it? I'll continue to ignore that ridiculous advice, thank you.

The "facts"? We've got hearsay from one guy that doesn't even work in Trenton that an experienced, highly paid, professional persuader just randomly went off on a guy unprovoked. Seems unlikely. Supposedly a room full of people saw it, but where's the ULP? Sounds like it'd be a slam dunk, unless we're missing some pieces.

I think you should refrain from those judgments until you have been directly involved in the process.

That statement assumes that we haven't.

Please. I always get a chuckle out of the announcements the Teamsters make when a terminal files a petition or even votes yes. All about how courageous they are to take such a big step. It's so hard to sign those cards in secret, and attend meetings at the hall where you're treated like a rock star. Then you have to just sit there and ignore everything the company tells you for a few weeks. Whew, then that secret ballot voting. Meanwhile, you don't actually accomplish anything.

Go tell someone else how strong our petitioners and "yes" voters are.

They did manage to get a response from you. No matter how ineffective and unsuccessful they may be.

The more you acknowledge the unionization movement by taking and making the time to post against them ( and to inform everyone how futile their efforts are ) makes me wonder and research just how much progress ( if any ) the unionization movement has made.

If the groups wanting to unionize have accomplished nothing , why spend so much effort and time on countering the pro union arguments? Let it go if they are wrong and they are wasting THEIR time against a company with deep pockets and an anti-union administration.

A Trenton driver suffered a heart attack yesterday after attending a heated captive audience union busting meeting held at the Trenton terminal. The company hired the Crossroads group a well know union busting consultant. The meetings were conducted by Steve Breyer who during the meeting verbally assulted and threatened employees at one point throwing objects across the room and getting in the faces of some drivers. After leaving the meeting one of drivers complained of chest pains as was taken to the hospital where he suffered a heart attack.

Our prayers go out to him and his family.
What objects did Breyer throw across the room?
Its good to know the driver is doing well.

Sure, but that's not difficult. I enjoy the argument.

For a long time, Con-way's approach to organizing was to pretend like it wasn't there. I think that's a bad strategy. Union campaigns thrive in silence and rumors, they don't do so well in the open. As someone else mentioned, sunlight is the best disinfectant.

You don't really have to wonder how they're doing- they'll rent a billboard for the smallest victories and not say a word about big losses.

If the groups wanting to unionize have accomplished nothing , why spend so much effort and time on countering the pro union arguments?

Because a small but vocal group of people still believe in them. A large number of people aren't participating in the discussion, but they're watching. Almost all of us don't want a union, but where are those voices?

These campaigns have a cost- in money, in time, in morale, and in reputation. If they were all doing it just to bring attention to issues at their barns, and stopping short of a petition, I wouldn't mind so much. But people believe they will get that pension. People believe they will get free healthcare. People believe the company honestly wants to screw them over and they really want to be represented by a dying, corrupt organization. I can't just sit back and watch.

Yeah because the company and management doesn't gloat when they win over the worker's. RIGGGGGHT!!!
