They are burning the road up between Atl and KC. They have increased big time this month. Pulling our pups and running teams.. also loading there trailers.. ATL looks like a truck stop, Also running out of non breaks terminals.. ABF drivers sitting at home, while they are rolling.

Get trailer numbers you have red circle protection. Your business agent should be all over this. You should be getting paid.

I can honestly say that I have never seen a terminal that was more secretive about their business than South Chicago. Nobody, including the union stewards, knew what was going on there.

Yes I agree with skinnytrucker... everyone that's pays dues... Put everyone on the same playing field.. The union knows very little how they ABF are operating these days.. US THE DRIVERS ARE GETTING BURNED.. not costing the union anything!! NEXT CONTRACT STAND FIRM on these issues.

Union management doesn't want to know how the sausage is made. Their only concern is that the money train is working.

As the contract gets closer ,there will be 50 to 100 outside ca%it's sitting in our yards everyday. Judys way of showing us she doesn't need road drivers. To anyone who says it can't be done, just look to Fed ex Ground. All owner operators pulling their trailers......

Don't you all get summaries of all PTS loads coming and going into determined terminals? At YRC we get multiple pages that are full of all PTS loads for that specific terminal. Then you all should have sign in and sign out sheets for PTS
Yes we have lists of PTS. The company can use 6% nationwide so the big breakbulk terminals get hammered with them. Just like YRC does

And you, under a CBA let it happen. You, not the Hall, not Hoffa, not your BA, working on the dock help load these non union people taking away the income from the sit @ home road driver. Your contract says you can't strike. But there many other ways to get so far in to their revenue stream that they will have no other action available but to sit down & talk with you, not Hoffa, the BA, but YOU the employee on the dock. Can anyone imagine a non-union crane operator trying to unload a container ship while all the other International Longshoremen union employees let it happen? Of course that won't happen. Because they the union employees will not let it happen. I believe there is no excuse by any Union Teamster member employed by a company to allow such a thing. They, the Longshoremen are the You on the waterfront. And until 'You' the Teamster Union member decides to act upon your complaint of non-union carriers hauling away your future, then all the rest is as worthless as tits on a boar hog. Ya all might as well ask to decertify the union, for you already know they won't help you. You and the Union leaders you voted in to power have allowed this to happen. You got yourself in to this mess, only you can get out of it. von.

We didn't vote Hoffa in. Canada and UPS did. I know a lot of freight and car haul out of KC and from all the guys that come in there. The only ones that did are Stewart's or new guys that just voted because of the name. We (ABF) are only 7500 out of 1.4 million. Most teamsters don't vote but over 85% did on local contract negotiations. I'm not out of KC and our hall voted against the current contract so don't come back with that. Longshoremen in the US have no competition in the US so of course they have leverage. Freight is outnumbered and you can blame whoever you want but the oldtimers didn't turn the nonunion boom around either. The numbers don't lie.

At our place they load some of these PTS loads in advance.Because these PTS teams have bid destination runs and are running a "bid" like schedule.Who would've thunk that these nons would have priority over us at YRC or even ABF?I think and it was a rule in our mou that the boards must be exhausted before they run any pts.Plenty of driver's on our extra boards to run what PTS does and should be scheduled in for our members to run like the PTS first and foremost.

Look, it is easy for me to jump on the net & post why or why not. I am retired. Other than a pension I have no skin in the game. So I have to ask, why do you or the BA, or the steward, or the rank & file sitting @ home instead of working, not doing anything about it. If what you say is correct, & the union employees work before the scabs, why do YOU allow it to happen? It comes down to the workers on the dock & street to enforce the contract. From past experience & your postings, the Local won't do anything to rock the boat or enforce the contract. So I ask again, why have YOU not done anything to change it. I wish you luck, you will need it. von

So far at least in KC they don't run unless the board is exhausted. They (ABF) are even hiring road drivers if you can believe that.

Your right Von, not that you needed me to tell you that, but the bottom line is every terminal should own up to their responsibility to know what your rights are.Stop guessing ! Remember to read the entire paragraph and all exceptions ! don't just read the part you like,(we,ve all done it),you have to read it all! If you could get everyone at Your terminal to do just that everyone could focus on how to fix the problems that needs to be addressed instead of overloading everyone with incorrect information!
