Holland | UPS to Freeze Pension Plans for Nonunion Staffers

Just F.Y.I.
This pension to 401k change at UPS is for "active", union-free (non-union) employees only. And it does NOT affect anyone who already has a pension amount determined.

And I quote: "This change does not affect your current or future benefit payments from the UPS Retirement Plan."

My source:
The letter that I just received from UPS yesterday.

UPS is being proactive and adjusting their pension shortfall. What would you guys suggest they do about it? Maybe just sit back on their fat asses like Hoffa did, and watch it collapse where everyone gets :censored:ed out of their retirement?

as a holland employee i think it would be awesome if they did a 401k with a healthy matching contribution, there hasnt been a real pension contribution in over a decade. as far as UPS goes theyre one of the only companies paying 100% AND guaranteeing the pension for their employees so theyre doing what they have to do maybe? its only for non union employees..i do understand that they have record profits and the employees want a piece of the pie rightfully so, so we will see what happens.
