Any of you fellas run out of the Conway Southern terminal or been there? I am interested in employment with them having my CDL with endorsements already. Any info on the line haul positions? Any one I should talk directly to at this terminal about line-haul?

conway southern's main corporate office is in fort worth. you need contact the terminal closest to where you live.
 
welcome to the boards. conway is going through some changes as we speak. as far as your employment search goes, conway has as many terminals as there is rice in china. so if the closest one to you isn't hiring, try the next closest. to apply you MUST HAVE doubles/triples, and hazmat endorsements. check the website Con-way to find the terminal nearest you

Look every where else first. A.B.F. Yellow, Fed EX Freight, USF, Roadway or who ever else you may have down south as a last resort Con-Way is better than McDOnalds or a foundry or living in a truck over the road.

Hey fellas thanks for all the info so far. I have not drove for a while (2005) but I don't mind taking a refresher or the like to join one of these companies. I am so interested in line haul it aint funny. I also understand that I may have to work the dock if I am correct or can I really get a line haul position in the first place? Oh yeah, I do have my doubles, triples, tanker and haz-mat endorsements already. These companies are everywhere around me in Fort Worth as mentioned.

You would be wasting your time going to conway.I know up north they are having problems and layoffs cause the freight is very very slow.Maybe the south is a bit better
 
I used to run to LFW when they were running FAC operation at night.I would suggest that you apply at your nearest terminal and give it a go,you might be pleasantly surprised.I hear a lot of negative things about this company,but I have had no major problems. If you live in the Metromess there 3 SC to apply at,Dallas,Ft.Worth and Garland.Also supposed to be opening another terminal in the area soon.Good Luck
