XPO | Excuse me did you say no cell phones?

little rules like this are "created"when morons "abuse" the system.....
think about it from a company standpoint....
what if it got in the media (headlines)
"Con-way driver big accident due to talking on cellphone..."
...of course the company has to do something about it....
or maybe it was an event as such someone complained "well if they get to use their cell phone....i get to ________ " (fill in the blanks)
then the company has to respond....

if u really have to answer/use your phone on the dock ATLEAST hide in a trailer or go to the break room....(dont get caught)
dont be a moron and ruin it for everyone....

same with driving....if u come in and the yard get off the phone atleast then....or watever it was that someone did to ruin it for everyone...geez

YELLOWCOLOREDTRUCKS I bet you must have gotten a great big dose of the conway blue smoke up your a** and after reading some of your posts, but then again just read on there are a few guys from my barn at the forum that got a big dose and bought into the livin the lie I mean dream speech . I dont want to fight , Just remember you are the 5th star ( now bend over):Bondage: :loser:

How do they think they will be able to enforce that rule ? Put it on vibrate and dont use it till your out of the gate.

Yet another thing to complain about. It does not mater because half of the guys are going to use them no matter what company policy is. I have seen drivers stand on the dock all night and text message. This also included the FOS at XCW. He spent more time standing at the podium texting then worrying about getting the breakers done. The sad part is I could care less, I just did what i needed to get done and went about my business. If he got in trouble its his own stupid problem. The best is seeing guys walking around all night with the blue-tooth headsets stuck to their face. I bet when they have a audit you don't see them with their headsets. I couldn't tell you how many times in the ccx organization i would catch MIKE, P. text messaging while in the middle of a audit. Then have the guy yell at someone for not having their back belt on. Double standard. Just do your job and quit worrying about someone else. Things would go allot smother if that would happen.

Where do you get your pay check from? (they are paying it):Banger-Cow: :Banane01:
:ranting2: Spoken like someone in management, or a manger want-a-be. Where do the companies get their money from, our sweat! We earn what we get and they make alot more than they pay! :ranting2:

Wrong Again

First of all the policy is that cell phones are not allowed on the dock. (You can thank the idiots at NAT for taking pictures of freight and trailer numbers and sending to their buddies who would then break in and steal the freight.) for this policy. There is nothing in the policy manual about no cell phones in trucks or anywhere else. You have the right to view the policy - JUST ASK! Do not assume, do not pay half attention in the meetings and come out saying what you think you heard. If this does not help pick up the damn phone and call the LGO yourself and ask Kerbo. If you feel like your in hell - vDo everyone a favor around you and quit. But you won't, you will just keep logging in to this web site and cry about stuff you know nothing about and are not man enough to ask. This is your company too, if you have questions or concerns call someone - quite whinning like a two year old and do something about it.

tank, its like i have said before some of the people on this are like old women, they just want to complain so they can hear their own voices. i agree if they dont like leave ... trust me there are definitely worse places to work, but you know what, these same people keep coming back to work at con-way every day

backbelts do work if worn properly
I beg to differ with you. Talk to any Phisical Theripist. I just came back to work after herniating L4, L5, S1, & ripping L5. Yes I wore my backbelt properly. I was told by 3 different theripists and my Nurilogical doctor that I might as well tie a scarf around my waist. The Co. provided belt has NO support to it. They are the cheapest thing they could find.

It is totaly for insurance purposes. If you are hurt the first thing they will ask you is were you wearing your backbelt? and if you say no the insurance company will give you a hard time paying the claim.

ill use my cell any dam time i want conway does not own me this is just another stupid bullcrap rule to go along with 100s of other rules they (the industry leader) cant even keep track of. so to all you drivers do as i do and keep the phone out of sight and out of mind untill you get in your truck and then it buisness as usual!!! so all you drivers out there call me ill be there

hand book what hand book if we had a copy of the rules then conway couldnt change them every other day to benifit them!!!!!!

Why don't you guys at Con-Way just file a grievance. OH I'm sorry I forgot you don't anything to fall back on.

With a union you bargain, without one you beg
