If they go acquisition route Land Air Express would seem like a fit. Non union carrier. Had their issues with DOT but two years later are still running. Closed terminals in NJ. Still have terminals in upstairs NY and New England. RealEstate investor bailed them out of closing two years ago. I would think know is when he could get ROI.That is correct three offers the last was 500m and the board voted unanimously NO!
They were bought out buy North East Freightways. They run under thier DOT number now since thier original number was ruined. They still have troubles, medical was cancelled for a while and they don’t own all the terminals they have left.If they go acquisition route Land Air Express would seem like a fit. Non union carrier. BUYing Pitt Ohio or award would have got them Pa, MD and NJ but no any or New England. Saia already has terminals in the rest of Ward and Pitt Ohio’s areasPitt Ohio pjax and vitran....saia has tried to buy all three...that came from a vp
Pitt-ohio is a kicks ass regional carrier...up here in the mid Atlantic region...we tried to buy them in 2005I’m very puzzled why Pitt Ohio isn’t on this website anymore. Never mind I found them on the “Smaller LTL Carriers” on this site. Strange, I didn’t picture them that small.
Hey Train, Pitt is not a true New England carrier, the are a mid atlantic carrier servicing virgina to New york and thru ohio, your true N.E. carriers are New Penn, NEMF, and Pyle, servicing Md. To Vermont and New Hampshire and into Canada.Pitt-ohio is a kicks ass regional carrier...up here in the mid Atlantic region...we tried to buy them in 2005

Is Duie still running those satellite guys up in Maine, New Hamsphire, and Vermont? I thought they were going to open a barn or 2 to help cover those states.
Big E seems to be doing a fine job in the northeast. I’m from the south and stay between Maryland and Maine 75% of the time.
What caused you to leave sefl for Estes and would you ever consider returning?Big E seems to be doing a fine job in the northeast. I’m from the south and stay between Maryland and Maine 75% of the time.
Long wait for linehaul at our terminal was the main reason. Right behind it was the overbearing management, especially seeing the way they treated our older guys who had been there for 20+ years. They obviously couldn’t move as fast as the younger guys and therefore were punished with trash freight, house stops, etc almost exclusively. I would not consider returning under normal circumstances but you never know what life may hand you in the future. I will say they didn’t cut our pay or benefits and kept everyone working through the recession. I’m very satisfied where I’m at with E currently. The only thing that stays the same is change though, one day we are on top of the world and the next day we could be a trash bottom feeder carrier, never can tell how things are going to play out. What caused you to leave sefl for Estes and would you ever consider returning?

Was told by someone in upper management last week that we would be in Boston by the end of the year
I had heard that they're struggling right now in the Northeast
