I'm applying for linehaul out of Zion, IL, wondering the payscale at that barn and any info on miles and dock time for new guys? Any info. would be appreciated!

I’m not sure where they are at payscale wise. It will be between 22-24 to start. Prolly be running to near by hubs such as Midway or Chicago Heights. All those Chicagoland service centers all have short runs with 4-6 hours of dock work for the bottom guys. When you land an interview make sure to ask where you will be running to mostly being a new guy. I know when I hired on at my barn the service center manger answered my questions truthfully about the runs.

Zion is at top scale,be ready to run 80 m one way and work the dock for 3 hrs,it will be mdw or cgt

Yeah, I think being in Milwaukee and northern Illinois is tough for newer LTL linehaul drivers being right next to Chicago. Seems like Indianapolis is the Mecca for linehaul drivers..Thanks for the info. Everyone has to pay there dues I guess. The trucking industry has big uphill battle with driver shortage.

Well the good thing is Zion is top scale terminal. You will start off right around 24 an hour to drive around on a forklift. Midway isn’t bad, can’t say much about the heights I’m usually there to just drop one and grab one.

I VIA ZON every night for the most part and their board seems to move up pretty quick. Regardless being only around 75 miles from CGT and 59 miles from MDW you'll hit the dock a lot. Plan on 20 years sitting on a forklift or in a yard truck on the hubs.Their xtra board seems to run good. The TM is an honest person at least with me he is.
