SAIA | Why the massive turnover will continue.

Line haul is taking a serious beat down. And all of it is related to the Bluetooth policy. HR be sure and thank safety for your dilemma.

The other driver crossed.thr median and.spun out of.control.
The Werner driver had his.truck under control, but was sued because he.was in.THE WRONG.PLACE AT.THE WRONG.TIME.

I don't drive for.SAIA.

I understand but it’s just frustrating because every other LTL carrier allows Bluetooths. I rarely use the phone so it really doesn’t bother me. But the turnover the Bluetooth ban creates causes us to be constantly understaffed thus causing them to work the dog ::shit:: out of me. That bothers me!!!
 
Just got word that another P&D man calls it quits in Garland today. Damn this is getting old. He was a damn good worker too!!

They rarely come here but they would never change that policy. If it was my company I would probably leave it in place because of the possible litigation that could follow. Line haul dispatcher at Garland quits. Went to Old Dominion. No easy answer to a serious problem with turnover. Obviously, it’s not just drivers.
 
Don’t know if this was covered or not but the cameras in the new trucks are quite different from previous ones they record 18-20 seconds as opposed to the 8 from previous models not including the 8 seconds prior to the actual event which caused the recording. And while they are way less sensitive then the others meaning following distance is all but inside 1 second before it would trigger a video and the impact sensor is less touchy too hitting potholes or hooking hard won’t trigger videos now as often either but it does still happen I got caught with one from a pothole. Now the biggest difference between this camera and previous ones is the recording the old ones stayed green meaning the light just to the right and below the lens until it recorded then turned red and stayed red for the duration of the recording then went back to green. The new ones have 7 lights under the lens the center 2 stay green always even during recording so you never know if it’s actually doing anything or when it’s done recording an incident I know this because guys have been caught thinking it stopped recording when it didn’t because of the longer recording times. Lastly the lights on the bottom go from green to one red and flashes forward and back across all light bulbs underneath looks kind of like the knight rider car kit where his lights are flashing back and forth on the grill. Anyway when this occurs it’s literally only 1-1/2 seconds most people don’t notice

Yet we got a buy 1 get 1 free Vnomics system that cause me to loose time every night running trailers thru.

Yes, you must be quick to notice the triggered event with the sequential red lights flashing. If you blink you would never know it’s downloading the event. It maybe last a second then it goes back to green.
