What about federal law it says we can talk just don’t hold or touch the phone or reach for it Doesn’t that mean anything in court

My yard is a major relay point for northeastern freight coming from the West we have two sets that haven’t moved since Tuesday morning go figure

I wonder if phone records were subpoenaed would they be able to distinguish if you were on a Bluetooth opposed to a handheld device.

Not to worry Central Dispatch will catch the problem Saturday morning, when you try to arrive.....they will have you blocked out and want you to take it as soon as your 10 hour break is up.

Of course they can if you dig deep enough into your phone you can see how many minutes each device used I’m not sure as to the time stamp but it will tell how much WiFi ,data and phone time was used that day I’m sure as high tech as these things are there are ways to see every keystroke that was made on them

Yeah or at 5 am and your trailers are sitting there ready but your not set up and you have to wait on central for 30-45 just do you can dispatch

Yes but is there a breakdown for Bluetooth usage? I’m not sure. I could see WiFi and data usage being brought up easily. But I’m thinking the records would just show you were on the phone and not know it was a Bluetooth. I could be wrong.

Yes, you must be quick to notice the triggered event with the sequential red lights flashing. If you blink you would never know it’s downloading the event. It maybe last a second then it goes back to green.

Exactly I got most of this info from Lytx tech support and some by playing with it. Pretty sad they can’t even update employees on changes as it pertains to equipment in our trucks I mean wouldn’t it be beneficial for the employees to know how the thing operates so they can tell when it’s malfunctioning or maybe not because if it were me I’d probably not write it up but still that’s not the point

Yet we got a buy 1 get 1 free Vnomics system that cause me to loose time every night running trailers thru.

They are junk but how does that happen??? I’ve never seen that before mine gives me issues with booting first thing and once in awhile it crashes during the trip but the new trucks haven’t had that yet. My biggest issue has been with the retarded EDVIR program good idea but poorly executed

My bosses wife asked if you could tell where someone had been, from there phone. I used her phone and then asked her, who lives at this address , and why do you visit four times per month for around 45 minutes each time? And don't tell me it's your mother's house cause she lives 30 minutes in another direction. Her face turned blood red and she said, "NEVER MIND".

With today’s technology, I’m guessing that any and all electronic activity is time stamped. This is probably done in code, and would require a specialist to retrieve, but possible and likely. I guess the bottom line is that you folks can’t use any of your electronic toys without risk of termination. Saia won’t relax their policy either - they have made a stand and it would show weakness if they reversed. It just amazes me that things like locked trailers and no tobacco are policies that are not enforced, but Bluetooth is. Inconsistency is the enemy

They could pull up the drivecam. In catastrophic wrecks I was told by a higher up at my company that they can pull everything that happened in front of the camera. Everything. Not just seconds. Hours and hours.

I knew Lytx could pull it up but I was just wondering if your cell records can distinguish the difference between Bluetooth and a handheld device. Now as far as Lytx being able to pull up hours of their DriveCam units I would say that is false. If an event is not downloaded it’s not saved. If they are doing that then we have been lied to from day one. And that is unethical and totally wrong. I can’t see why they would lie because they would eventually lose all credibility. And that’s not good for business.

They have lost all credibility in my book the ceo said in an interview with common carrier journal that we would never have driver facing cameras that it was a violation of privacy. Karla made a liar out of him maybe she’s really the ceo

It was described to me as a failsafe in a sense.

If a triggering event misses bad behavior and a catastrophic event occurs like a loss of life , reviewing more video of what happened before that catastrophic event may show exactly what led up to the problem.
