I would like to see what some others think will happen here at FXNL in the form of changes over the next 6 months. FXF guys and gals are welcome to post their opinions as well but keep the negatives out of this thread please.

Ok I will start by saying I think they will change the serivce days on all areas and offer a larger discount. They want to take the market so this would make good sense. We already have good service times so they can afford a change like this.

I figure our hub freight will go away after the first of the year. The conference that is on the National web site says that there will be no duplication of services. Here in Tx hub service for us is not working to well.

I agree to a certain extent root. I think what you will have is national moving the coast to coast freight ( we see plenty on the west coast ) and freight continue to move the two and three day stuff.

Another word National will specialize in the 4 day and longer lanes primarily on the coasts and freight will continue to run the 2 and 3 day lane. I do not see the time or cost thing continue to be a factor.

National (Watkins) service times are already great so why not take that out of the equation and focus what each one does best.

Great feedback so far I like it! As far as the hubs go they do not see much freight but they are still generating millions of dollars. If the company makes lets say 6 million on the hubs but it cost 7 million to run them then yes they will close but if the cost to operate is less I do not see them closing these down.

I do not see anyone closing anything just the tweaking of the entire system. I have read that the experts see FedEx buying or starting a truckload division so let’s say they buy US Express and they become FedEx truckload and we have national running the nationwide LTL and Freight moving the two and three day LTL you have the complete package of services to offer.

The sales team comes in and sells the package to a customer and the customer submits the pickups on line or over the phone and FedEx makes the decision on whom to send in to make the pickup. No confusion but a complete package of shipping goods for the customer.

You want to make the customer happy and take the decision on whom to call out of their hands and into our hands this way there is no confusion on who they call and no difference in rates and the service is standardized.

These are all my opinions I have no inside information or anything, but the man that started all of this is no dummy and if I can see these benefits I am sure others in the know are thinking about similar things even if they are not the same as mine.

1. FNL Hub-Freight to FXF

2. FXF 3-4 day freight to FNL

3. Hubs converted to conventional use as volume rises

4. Contractor, Linehaul, P&D pay rises to match recent industry increases.

5. Power Only use eliminated, and outside contractor use curtailed.

You and I are on the same page tightwad I wonder if anyone upstairs is listening or should you and I take over the operation :biglaugh:

First, before any changes are implimented, the upper management had better treat its employees right. The upcoming changes will mean nothing if the employees are still being treated like crap.

There's been a few of us talkin,we believe the company is going too eventually combine national and frts service's and some center;s will close, and now there's talk of fdx buyin a truckload company as we all know we wont find out till it happen's,now as i stated were just talkin so dont any body get all flustered yet,we need too try and find out what truckload company were buying out.

There's been a few of us talkin, and we believe that National/Fdxfrt will conbine services and shut some center's down, now before you all get you;re panties in a bunch this is just talk but if you look at the big picture down the road, with the talk of us buying a truckload company and all of you folk's know the company can't say anything untill it happen's,and as you all now the company is silent in tellin us the employee's untill they seem to want too,NOW VIEW THIS WITH AN OPEN MIND AND LOOK AT THE OVERALL BIG PICTURE FOR THE FUTURE.

:ShakeHandsNah: Naaaah, some areas not serviced by National will get the stuff they hand off, other than that I don't see much change, other than growth.

I would like to know how fxfe and National are going to handle the canadian freight; is freight just going to have national do the pickups for the canadian freight? I ask that question in reference to the U.S market.

Other than the obvious that being FXN handing off the freight now going to the cartage carriers and FXF handing off it's long haul frieght to FXN here is what we should expect........At FXN we will see our transit times slowed and our rates dropped to compete the Big U carriers, this will allow frieght to set until the trailer is full and we will be able to compete with price as well as offer the complete services of FED-EX.......The end result will be a huge increase in frieght at FXN:hysterical:

you guys can count on all new mngmt.it won't happen all at once but it will happen.in my region at fxfe there are no center mgrs left from af the all been canned or reclassed into lesser positions.most of the regional mgrs are gone as well.i'm not saying its a good or bad change but its a change thats going to happen.

I'm betting that it's not among the drivers where there will be changes. FedEx has been around long enough to know that a poorly managed company, when times get slow, makes cuts in the work force. A well-managed company hires more salespeople and does more advertising.

In the U.S., nothing happens until someone sells something!

I just wonder how many will be left with a company car if they are not a salesman? There will be some long faces of some that think that those cars are thiers!

Daily fx national is sending a few trailers full of regional freight, and what was interline buisness to the fx freight terminal from local pick-ups and inbound. The trailers come back empty from fxfe. National is giving up freight and getting nothing in return.
