Very sad news. My condolences to the family. Drivers please be careful because this accident shows life can be taken in a New York minute. The driver in the bunk must have died in his sleep. Never knew what hit him. Very sad. Hopefully DriveCam can shed some light on what actually happened. As tragic as this accident was it could have been much worse. Both drivers could have been killed and if that set would have broken apart spilling it’s contents on to the freeway then more life’s could have been lost with the oncoming traffic approaching.

One link says the driver at the wheel was killed and the other says the driver in the bunk was killed so I’m not really sure. Either way it’s a tragic accident. A line haul driver told me it was the driver in the bunk that lost his life. My apologies for any confusion.

Very sad that one of our SAIA brothers lost his life. Many don’t appreciate what we do to make a living. We have a very dangerous job Rider as you and I know full well. Let’s say a prayer for the man that won’t make it home to his family tonight. Let our thoughts and prayers be with his family. It is a very sad day at SAIA LTL FREIGHT. Drive safe everyone.

I agree a sad day. My day was going good till I read that and felt sorry for him and his family and the Saia brothers.
