ODFL | Rt 715 in PA

Don't know how it started out but it is built like a freight terminal instead of a distribution center.Has one big dock with another smaller one and what looks to be a large shop.If that was Roadway what year was it built ?

It was built around 1973. I ran out of there for 20 years. We covered NY, NJ, and all of New England. Was a busy place, had about 300 linehaul drivers at one time. Tannersville was a small town back then, it was a great place to live and work. The big dock was outbound and the small one inbound. The shop had about 10 or so safety lanes and a full tractor shop for overhauls. Also had a tire shop.

Scranton/reading needs to cruise bye lol. Some have been told it's 5 years away, but I wouldn't buy that. Especially with a new North Pit going in off 80 as well, rumors that COH is going to get meet and turns up on 80 and rumors that Corp want to move a lot of the freight off the pa76 pike ...I would think TVP would be online in 2019 to complete a new 80 freight flow to the Northeast. Not sure what is going to become of HAR with all these new terminals surrounding them, if they're going to remain break bulk or what. Central's East board "Jersey" Mike is moving up to Newburgh, NY this week as a new regional dispatcher. Rumor was he was going to TVP but that may be false information since i believe he's from NY. Definitely appears to be big changes for NE freight flow to come.

What's TVP?

I worked there with SuperCourse as well. Walmart paid 10 million and put another 6 million into it. Just went past it yesterday. 256 doors total. YRCF was asking 85 million, just like every other terminal that Roadway owned, it was sold for pennies on the dollar. I still live in Tobyhanna, Pa. I haven't heard Walmart was looking to move out. Our Dorrance term. services that are as well as the Walmart DC in Tobyhanna, wonder if they heard anything ?

I was 935 on the master and 315 on the road April 20 1979. I believe it opened September 1973.

You are correct, I just checked the web-site. ODFL is listed as the owners. I'm curious now if they were the original buyers from YRCW and OD leased it to Walmart ? I've been in there twice to pull mtys out these last 9 yrs. Installed doors on the dock, gutted and remodeled the offices, paved the entire yard & employee lot and put a new fence up. They were only using one of the 12 safety lanes because it's 99% O/O's. All containers from the port for Walmart dotcom. Changed the truck entrance to the middle of the yard were our ready line was, we used to come in from the upper end around the garage. OD would probably come in from behind the garage as well and restore the ready line.
