I call the customer and ask them if i can get a semi truck down their access road and turn around with it. They tell me yeah they do it all the time. Access road winds and bends half a mile btw. I trust them only to find out there is no way to turn around. Makes me want to pull my hair out. Anyone else have this experience?

You mean they didn’t tell you that the UPS guy don’t have any trouble?

Nope. Stay on the street and tell them that it will be at the driveway.

Not being a smart ass , just curious , if you were that worried about a delivery or pick-up did you check the satellite/overhead view on one of the map services like Google Maps , Bing Maps , or Apple Maps?

Welcome to LTL. Take it as a valuable lesson learned. Never trust what the customer tells you. You have to decide as the professional whether or not you can safely make the delivery.

Yeah i do that all the time. I have a t and t
and sometimes it doesnt work. Service isnt great at all. I plan on going back to verizon when contract is over.

Good idea about the sat view. Especially useful if running city P&D. If you do a lot of resident deliveries, a lap top can be quite useful. von.

some idiot center manager will say "oh yeah we go in there all the time" lying to your face, hoping that you will do it, knowing the risk, have not drove a truck in 30 years (center manager), with a smile on his face waiting for the center manager to look good at YOUR cost. DON'T RISK IT!!!!
