TForce | UPSF Letter On Their Website

As Soon as contract is in place?

That's right, there is no language in that last paragraph indicating they plan on closing up shop if they do not get an acceptable contract.

"We appreciate your patience as we work through this negotiation. We will resume normal UPS Freight operations as soon as a new contract is in place."

I dunno, I think alot of mind games are being played out on both the company and the Teamster sides for the sole purpose of a yes vote.
I don't really see the doom and gloom that's been propagated to get the yes votes in that statement to customers.

That settles it then it's an no vote

holy hell your hanging on to that? Why would they spook their customers with any statement other than that?
That's the thing, they're not spooking their customers. They're letting them know they are working out a contract with labor.
Anyone can convince themselves to vote yes or no based on what they want to believe.
Politicians convince people to vote for them all the time based on nothing but bull ::shit::.

On the UPSF web site their is a little box on your right that says Important update on your shipments. Click on that and read the WHOLE letter to the customers.
PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE LAST PARAGRAPH !!!
Now all of the sky is falling Scared to death kiddies can stop with the BS.

Important Update on UPS® Freight
Dockworker should make this thread a sticky or whatever it is called.... so it is on top of the list to be seen.

I added that link to Cab Lizzards post. I posted it a few days ago but it’s buried in another thread now.
Regardless of the outcome of the vote. I highly doubt freight LTL is going away.
The purging is just a proactive transparent way to protect UPS and their customers against their freight being held hostage in the system.

It’s a risky unprecedented move that becomes less of a logistical nightmare should we strike. Customers are thankful they were forwarned and are more likely to resume business with us as soon as a contract is ratified.
If we strike and hold their freight hostage, you **** them off and they get their revenge by leaving forever. UPS learned that lesson from the small pack strike, they lost business forever to FedEx for holding critical packages hostage. (Medical supplies, electronics etc.)
You do that to the LTL side and there are much more severe and permanent repercussions. Customers have carriers to choose from and give the business to, so UPS being proactive by purging and transparent by being honest to the customer is actually a great strategic move for them. It will also benefit the drivers once we go through this storm. In the mean time it’s the bottom guys/ gals feel the hurt from the purge even before we vote. Once ratified it will be slow to recover because of the purging. I took a voluntary layoff.

Also, like other areas of our forums, when a topic starts getting spicy, people suddenly start coming out of the woodwork. I am going to be open and honest....we do have some members of management observing quite contently. I will not name names or reveal if they are posting to sway the vote. Please no guessing or personally attacks on anyone here. We are grown enough to filter ourselves.

*If you believe this is a crumb sprinkled gray area crap filled contract than vote.
*If you believe this is as good as it’s going to get than vote.
*If you believe your family and financial situation matters than vote.
*If you believe my vote won’t matter than vote.
*If you are scared to strike or ready to strike than vote.

Since eBallots are off the table and we were being force corralled to go to the union for a low turnout voting, Some locals are now coming to the barns. (A huge plus)
Get with your BA as they will most likely stage off property for voting.
Even if your off, come in to vote, unless you are physically unable to.

Whatever choice you make “Vote The Conscience” because “every” single vote counts.
Don’t get caught into the gray area like small pack did and get force ratified.

My fellow co-workers and I don't care about this union crusade against ups, or ups fight against the union they pretty much own.

Just because somebody doesn't want to go on a Financial ******* mission with you doesn't mean they're management.

You no vote/strike people, say you're trying to gain something better but in fact all you're going to do is hurt more people and quite frankly you don't care. As long as you get what you want. You're inexperienced you have no idea what you're doing, until a few days ago none of you knew you were going to lose your insurance if you went on strike.

Quite frankly I'd find this whole thing pretty funny, if you weren't going to hurt so many people in the process.

You guys are acting like some adolescent who just found his father's loaded 357 Magnum in the drawer under his pants.
You want so desperately to have some power that you don't even know how to control.

This is one of the smartest statement posted about this situation. So many have forgotten about the Teamster strike in 94. Now fast foward to 2018 and 4 out of the top 6 LTL carriers are non-union. Thanks to the 94 strike of 20+ union LTL carriers all these non-union carriers have done nothing but grown and over taken the union one. BTW how many of those companies are still open today? There were companies that had to layoff there own employees due to the 94 strike and may have vowed to never let that happen again. No customers out there puts all there apple in one basket anymore and price isn't the only reason. So go ahead and vote NO and all the union and non-union carriers will handle the freight and when and if UPSF reopens the freight will be there. Maybe not in the amount that it was before the strike because you will have left you customers hanging. It is better that UPS is clearing it docks because locking freight in your system will leave a real bad taste in you customers mouths and will be remember for years.
I have no dog in this fight. The only way this effects me is by more work if the vote goes one way and this stunt may also have the same effect.

The only power they have is will they be working next week or not.
UPS has all the power right now because IBT can't afford to lose another union carrier and these companies know it.

That’s a Captain Obvious statement.
No one is accusing ANYONE about being management or which way they are trying to swing the vote. Just stating the fact we have corporate eyeballs and management watching and contributing.

Stick to the topic or posts gets deleted.
The topic is about the last paragraph statement in that link: “We appreciate your patience as we work through this negotiation. We will resume normal UPS Freight operations as soon as a new contract is in place.”

There are other threads supporting the No vote agenda and Yes vote agenda. People should go there and continue their crusade.

I been through the locked gates every time since 1977 so I think I got a clue as to how this mess works. The new twist is the cleaning out of the system, but can understand why that UPS has gone down that road. Less problems in the long run.

The only problem is some of these guys begging for yes votes will have a hard time making the $300,000 mortgage payment, 50,000 vehicle payment & let’s not forget about private school while the wife don’t work....lol
