FedEx Freight | Speeding Ticket

I think I am only FedEx driver in history getting a impeding with the flow of traffic ticket for going to slow! I am being serious too!!! I was parked!

I believe you guys are missing the point. FedEx Freight policy on speeding is: you have to be CONVICTED of the infraction & you are given 180 days to settle the matter after that FedEx will use the original citation for means of disciplinary action. That is what it say's, but not necessarily how it works. Example, I received a citation for 18 mph over on my run from GJN to DEN. I did everything by the book as far as contacting and turning in the citation to the operations manager. I felt I had a very good chance of getting the citation thrown-out, or at the very least reduced to a minor infraction. The highway patrol who issued the citation never turned it in, thus there was never a citation issued. End of story, not by a long shot. Here is what happened, two days after receiving the citation my service center manager calls me and informs me that I have been disqualify from driving; this was on a Friday 2hrs before show-time. I asked why he said because of the speeding ticket I received for more the 15 mph over. I explained the fact that I was not speeding and that FedEx allowed me 180 days to prove that point. So I filed a claim for my pay which FedEx quickly denied and told me I needed to come in for a conference call and to watch a series of videos. I declined, and stated I was going to stand by their policy which allows a driver 180 days to prove his/her innocence. Bottom line after seven years of running one of the hardest lanes in America I was fired. Yes, my employment was terminated for a ticket I never received!

Uh! Not because of this but I was once in trouble because of drunk driving. Had to take help of a good DUI attorney Los Angeles to get out of it. I was very much scared that time as didn’t want to lose my licence at all. One must avoid speeding as well.

One of our co workers received a speeding ticket in his personal vehicle. It was for 42mph in a 25 mph zone. The week later they pulled him in early to watch safety videos because they said he was suspended. He worked later that day, question he has asked and received two different answers is what happens next if anything . He called harrison and they said done deal 2yrs probationary period .The center mgr said they are waiting to see outcome of his court date .What is he to believe any answers would be helpfull also has had two chargeables prior to the ticket.
if you get 2 tickets going over 15mph in personal vehicle or work vehicle within 3 yrs, you are DONE driving for fedex and will be terminated. they take that very seriously and do not plead no contest cause that is just saying your guilty in fedex eyes.

It’s not if you get 2 tickets for doing 15mph over, it’s only if you’re convicted of doing 15mph over. I got a ticket for over 15mph in my personal vehicle but after talking to the DA I got a “voluntary dismal”, I didn’t have to tell the company about the ticket!! :1036316054:

It's best to always speak with an attorney before telling FedEx. I had one once that was handled so as to keep it off of my record. Fedex didn't need to know about it. The policy of holding you to a charge and not a conviction is just ludicrous.

Any ticket for 15 or over the limit is in fact an arrest for a criminal act in a commercial motor vehicle. Bad deal. Dumb deal. Good luck with that!

A speeding ticket is a civil offense not criminal. That ticket carries a bigger fine and 10 points on you csa score but no arrest You'd have to be charged with a criminal offense to be arrested.

I would agree with you to a point. Had a friend in his personal vehicle that went to jail and car impounded he was doing 90 in a 55.

In California, 15 over the limit is a misdemeanor, and in fact a criminal offense.

Probably got a public indagerment or something that made criminal. They can make it more then just a speeding ticket. And chances are going that fast in a 55 would probably qualify as such. But just speeding it self is not a crime. Wouldn't advise to test them either!! Lol
