Just thought I would throw this out there, I know there had been some talk a while back about this, Last night 3/22/19 I had a Saia set pass me Westbound, as I was getting onto 90 off 290. It was a new tractor pulling two new trailers. I passed it again, as they were taking the 84 exit headed toward CT. Didn't know if any one else has seen them, or knew where they had set up shop in Boston region, just curious and wondering if were going to be seeing a lot more of them in the near future.

They also have a terminal in CT just off I91 next door to JP Express( near North Haven)

I'm going to throw a stink bomb into this thread. I think the driver facing cameras are a good idea especially for the drivers who cannot seem to keep their hands off their cell phones while driving. The law is clear, no texting or operating a hand held device while the truck is in motion. I have heard tell of drivers being fired from our company after getting caught with a cell phone in their hand twice by the camera and I think that's fine. If they cannot keep the damned thing out of their hands when operating CMV, I don't want them on the road anyway, at least not wearing our company colors. Most of the time, people tend to be act more honest if they know they're being watched. Let's take damaged freight for example. We all know damage exceptions are on the rise, hell at my place we've lost good customers just for that reason alone. How about we put cameras on the docks and start watching everyone who moves freight. Since it's so hard nowadays to hold someone accountable, these young people will deny deny deny right to your face even if you see them tearing stuff up, they will try to blame someone else. Video tape doesn't lie, catch 'em on the camera and write their asses up for tearing up the freight. Rant over, thank you.

Another real winner of a company. Go over to that thread and catch the joy there.
Fart in the seat and it sets a drivecam event off .
I might suggest you post on their thread too see if you can get an answer.
Most of the negativity on our thread comes from non employees. Former & bitter or not, non employees. And only a handful at that. Just sayin. :1036316054:

So what am I supposed to take away from these comments regarding my post? I can make a case for inward/outward facing cameras in the trucks, can you make a case against them? I doubt it.

I don't mind the safety concept. But like everything else. There have been examples of this being weaponized. And I am not happy about that at all. 100% in favor of cameras looking out the front glass. Would even like cameras on the mirrors looking back. The one looking me in the face, I have never had a problem with it. But that's not the case for everyone.
