wow here we go again the company crying there broke … they spend money like water on the upper management, and the union pushing there bull crap agenda again. . but we cant make ended meet in all the big city's I don't like the fact that we didn't get any more sick days, or personal days …. most employees don't get a extra week …..a majority of men here worked for the company 10 to 14 years just a few top men get a week back that worked 20 years... that's not good for the masses...……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
they talk safety that's a joke …. Will not spend on what really matters equipment, trucks, jacks drivers comfort ect
they don't fix the trucks in Maspeth the Stewart in 07 says its too early to start fixing the ac now its in the contract, all these years and we go through the same song and dance VOTE NO SEND THEM BACK TO HELL..... IM REALLY PISSED OFF .....THEY ARE TRYING TO STRONG ARM US AGAIN ALLWAYS SAYING THEY CANT PAY OR WILL CLOSE THERE DOORS.. THE COMPANY HAD 10 years to get things in order what will it be next time 2023 the same old song and dance

By not removing the 9 hour bids, here is the difference for a bunch of our morning city guys.

1 1/2 pay=$33.86
9 hour bid at straight new rate $$23.24 x 45 hours= $1,045.80/week.

8 hour bid gets this:
$23.24x40 hours= $929.60
1 1/2 pay at $33.86x 5 hours OT= $169.30( if you don't think that everybody gets 45/week you are stupid or a liar)
$929.60+$169.30=$1,098.90/week pay for the 8 hour bid at 45 hours/week...which they certainly get and then some.

Difference is $53.10 every week.....for the same work...why the hell should a Teamster care if they closed terminals to expand areas? So they could cry that they needed this bid to make up the difference in drive time to customers Road guys make more money for more miles/time..not less like this....we drive to work farther with fewer terminals costing us more time and gas also......who the hell ever came up with and agreed to this????

Add it over 5 year contract and it looks worse.....both sides of committee look at long term money over the contract....YOU BETTER LOOK AT THIS!

"They've been doing it forever"...............time for it to go!

One group of guys doing the exact same job starting right next to another guy with a difference in pay of $53.10/week...........and $2,761.20/year.................almost 3 grand...Is that over 2 weeks pay for the year???????

Dumbest most scabby thing I'd ever seen.....and to believe a union put it in their contract...ridiculous......and leaves it their at the ONLY TIME WE CAN GET RID OF IT...NOW!!!!!!!!!!! or it stays.
This will probably make the difference in my vote...especially since my 8hr just got turned to a 9hr bid.
Slave can you explain this a little bit ? Are you talking something specific to your local or terminal ?
My terminal has 8 hour bids. (8 and half due to lunch being unpaid 30 minutes)
Has this changed in the new contract and I didn’t catch it ?

Central PA Supplement.....It's not new...It should be removed. Article 50 something on 9 hour bids....I'll get the official one some time today This is the time you could remove something so stupid and it should be removed now...or it stays another 5 years........A whole bunch of our morning city runs are 9 hour bids here nd have always been for a long time.....If you were on one you'd surely know the frustration and anger.....some guys have worked decades here and retired on them for a morning start time......always getting ripped off. Our morning strt times have them....$53/week pays for a morning bid...a racket.
Thank you for the info. I’m not part of that supplement but I completely understand your frustration over the issue, I am a Sr. Guy on a morning city bid and that would **** me off.

I’m surprised at you. I can understand your frustration, having voted for the last contract and the MOU and everything that it stood for.
But to resort to name calling?
Everything in your post I agree with, it could have and should have been addressed last time. It wasn’t thanks to guys like you that voted for it. I got over it, it’s time you do as well. It’s over, we missed our chance.
Oh and just so we’re clear, I respect everybody’s right to vote however they vote for whatever reason. (even yours) I truly do. It’s the guys that accept the contract and then complain about it forever that bother me. Don’t take it personally, the majority of the workforce does the same thing.
Have a good day

I see that the Rat Bastard Unbeatable has not posted his name here, nor removed mine.

Anyways. As far as the whole national thing. That's all to be expected.
My problem is with Central PA and their Negotiating members, and their Panel, and their guys in positions of power who allow the 9 hour bid to remain n our supplement. They wouldn't want it if it was their bid. It shouldn't exist and never should have.
Between and including 7:30 and 9:30 AM, we have 20 city bids. 9 f them are 9 hour bids. The rest are 8 hour bids. So 9 guys work the same hours for the year for $3000 or so less/year. Every day and every week they get less. Most ridiculous thing I've seen. Should not be in any union contract ever.......but they just shrug it off as if it doesn't matter...because it doesn't affect hat they must do for their pay. Proposals were in. Ignored. We can't get rid of even any bids with them with grievances...Panel shoots them down. This is the ONLY chance we had to be rid of them and it was ignored.
Therefore, no matter how much they, or the company wants to sell this deal.....I have to ignore them.
Watch a circle on a map all day to see if some days you get an 8 hour day...stupid.
It doesn't belong and must go. take that out and I might vote yes.I don't cont on us getting much more than the offer.I'll get the same :::shit::: pay, compensation and treatment anywhere else I go if I stay in this stupid industry......keep it in and sorry...It gnaws at all of us who have it and we may be stuck on them for years.......a 5 year contract makes the 9 hour bids make $15000 less for the duration of the contract...We're not tht rich to take a ripoff loss like that.We do the same job as the 8 hour guys and should not care if the company 'needed' them due to larger areas due to closings and consolidating terminals....We are hourly workers and our distance driven to stops doesn 't mater to us..Why should it? We don't have bid runs...We go where needed by the day...and all do pretty much the same driving and hours. Sorry..You should have considered taking it out.

I get ripped apart whenever I post it BUT, The vote on the last MOU was BS. after we got the “company will close if it’s a no vote” song , It was a NO vote, then we got the revote where they changed a few things mostly cuts they wanted dock workers to take and the vote was done in a short time in person on a weekend.
Just an opinion, lot of BS went on to make sure the second vote was a yes.
