5yrs ago they were on deaths doorstep, the company was telling everyone they were going out of business and we still pushed it to a second vote, theres been no talk of that, the companys bought thousands of tractors and trailers, theyre not going out of business on one no vote, the banks would never get they're money! Do you work for YRC?This is the offer presented to the members. The negotiations were extended.
The union even walked out of negotiations.
They’ve told us they have squeezed every penny out of them they can get.
This ain’t the 80’s when the union tells you they don’t recommend the contract.
You guys are gambling with your future.

Dumb assWho cares, vote no, no one is going to try to change your mind making you finally feel important for the 1st time in your life,

Urging ratification, Tyson Johnson, director of the Teamsters’ National Freight Division, said the concessions were “difficult to accept,” but added “if this [contract] modification is rejected, there is no doubt this company will go out of business.” Johnson said the recession “continues to wreak havoc on the trucking industry and threatens our members’ jobs.”I don't recall YRC ever saying they were going out of business. What they said was that they didn't have the cash necessary to pay off the notes/loans coming due and if they didn't get refinancing they would likely have to file Ch.11. That act would scare away shippers and likely force them to go out of business. Back then the investment banks wouldn't refinance the loan without seeing that they would reduce their expenses by getting concessions from labor. If they didn't do that they would likely not have the cash flow necessary to pay off the loan. Get your facts right. They long ago made bad business decisions by borrowing to overpay for Roadway and USF. That's ancient history. Where we go from today is all that counts.
Our business agent said that they gave us all that they could give us. They also said at the money they are going to pay us if the new contract is ratified. That if they didn't change their ways management wise they would be out of business within the next two to three years anyway.I don't recall YRC ever saying they were going out of business. Actually it worked out pretty good,we got them to reduce the hours for pension and vacation requirements and more money in the pension and the same rate for CDL drivers who work the dock. And the red circle guarantee for road drivers that work out of classification in other words your run is cancelled so you can work the dock and get $38.61 an hr.Some guys even stay home and get paid.
