Yellow | Why Can't Yrc Compete With Xpo

Husband wife teams as independent contractors were popular in the 30’s.

I made a lot of money as an independent.

We can only speculate, or expectorate.

I grew up with guys that were leased to all the large carriers, and yes, they made good money.
The company, dock and local guys were paid poorly and had a hard life.
If the big man said jump, they had better jump, or was out the door.

What kind of truck did you drive in the 30’s???
Seabreeze/Triplex hand me downs.

Tonka?

(Still have my Doepke road grader)

Xpo schedule to get a raise of $0.84 at the end of this month. Putting them at top paid in the Southeast region at $28. 88 an hour. Just curious ! If anyone was keeping score

I have yet to see a pay stub of any non-union blowhard to see what they take home. what does 28.88 come to after insurance, 401k, additional premiums for family members etc. Our hourly wage is just what it says it is. The company pays roughly 10.00 per hour for our insurance and although We yrc employees are getting only 25 percent of our pension paid. We still have things like work rules, seniority, overtime after 8 hours grievance rights, guaranteed 40 hour workweek for 90 percent of our seniority board. Add it all up and it equals a better standard of living and working conditions. Non union folks need to wake up and join the Teamsters. because if they take us down guess who's gonna suffer the most. Non union companies only pay what they have to to keep the Teamsters out. If You drive a truck, or work the dock or yard, You are a Teamster. so call Your local union and join today then We can all live better!

Exactly
The non union carriers tell you what range our compensation package is
Someone said their insurance was only 125 a week
That's over $3 an our in itself
Can't even start to put a price on job security and representation

What do the non unions pay out of their paycheck for retirement? Please add that cost on top u of the medical and tell me again how go they have it?
Myself being at the purple monster plus flying w for almost 30years I've taken out 15% of my pay to my 401k plus with the company match I've gotten to seven figures. When I die all the money that is left goes to the family. And yes it is the same stock market that the Teamsters invest in, so if it crashes I will lose some of my investments but I am diversefied

Joe, did you work for Thurston, if so, where?

Thurston was right below PIE in Charl, I recall the service isle guy putting the fuel hose in a tractor then went on
break, it didn't cut off, fuel ran all down in their yard.
EPA, FD, police and all were on scene, you smelled fuel for months.

Wasn't the truck line named after this singer? :hide:

Then IU bought Thurston, Pie and others and screwed everybody!
