Yellow | Yrc,holland, new Penn Contract Update Conference Call Live Stream

Good luck with the vote. I'm hoping not to be on much about this, this time. Look at all the info given and decide what you want.(There are a lot of things underlined and crossed off, more than in the briefing) I think Ernie and his people did the best they could with this company and situation. If it's not what you want vote no. Close the place, gamble on whether you will get something better(if so I doubt it will be much). If you are satisfied with the offer, vote yes.
My problem is with whomever was involved with Central PA Supplement. They have no balls, they look at us as we look at our employers, they are nice and comfy with their jobs and situation and relationships with certain people in certain companies and their jobs together on Panels and such, and have there multiple pensions. We seem to be just a pain in their asses is sometimes the feeling I get. They want the money with as little work as possible.
It's time for them and Hoffa to move on imo(and they are, and with that comes the thing that they may not care one bit if you close the place)) and I'm not a total TDU supporter also. The 9 hour bid is no big deal to the national deal...but they should know how stupid it is for us, (although the numbers are very small)until other areas see it as an option and put it into their supplements)....New Penn doesn't make a killing on it...the drivers just get sour..and why is that necessary...It's just plain stubbornness and laziness to leave them in there. That kind of stuff has made union jobs suck more than is acknowledged.
And for those who think the yes voters were the reason that the contract sucks now...you need do nothing but to look at some of the stupid things given in to decades before that and leading to it....It's been going backwards for a long time...even when some thought they were voting for big bad teamster ideals...they were still voting for stuff I view as dumb as ::shit::...9 hour bids...53 foot trailers, 102 wides, barn doors...doubles....required to work 10 hours whenever they want you...14 if you drive.......The New Penn 45 foot system was a Teamster system.....even UPS with their big stupid 53's and doubles and triples.....are not union ideals to me......not the ideal tools to make my job go smooth.....company man ideals. Haul more freight and never got the extra profits in the driver pockets for the aggravation. The money would never measure up to the aggravation to do the job with that stupid equipment. I don't think 53's, doubles beling in this area at all...Too dangerous and too many people and too many road closures and deaths allof the time...but will the unions say no? Nope....The companies want that money and the teamster and nonunion drivers will keep doing it as its normal...quit whining and just work and be a dumbass. "it's the job" "It's part of the job and has been" Well it shouldn't be imo........and long ago their would've beens support for that..before the oldest people in the business were even in the business. Now I have to see Roadrunner idiots who sleep on our lot, hauling foreign junk in here form California..wasting their lives hauling big stupid 53's and sleeping in their trucks....I don't even want to see guys doing that anywhere...let alone at our dock....waiting over a day, living in a stupid truck for wages which sure as hell are not worth the exchange for your whole life....stupid business and has been my whole life.....Mileage pay is also totally accpete in this business....I think it scabby. Shuldn't have to hurry or get piece rate for pay...It should all be hourly...and time and a half OVER 8...NOT 9!

Vote how you want. I have no real side on this one.

I’d hate to be in the position y’all are in , that’s why I moved on. To a Teamster affiliated company nonetheless. Hard pill to swallow leaving, but best move I’ve ever made. I check on y’all time to time to see how things are going. Regardless of what people say on here, there’s life out there outside of that dump. If you vote yes, so be it, be happy, and go to work every day, and give them a solid 8. If no is your vote, don’t be afraid. There is life outside that place. Personally, I chose my future. BUT, if you stay here on a YES vote, be a man, and stand by your decision. If NO is your angle on this, don’t be afraid. Best of luck to y’all. Mabye I’ll see you down the road.. Take care..

People should have to start their posts with their age, I think it would be fascinating to see how many of the go somewhere else people are younger and how many of the not giving up seniority and vacation to be on the bottom are older guys. We only lost one guy so far at my barn because of the pension not being changed. I must be the only guy on here that doesn't care what my co workers make or my neighbors make or what the guys at other companies make, the only person I care about is me! Unless I can come up with a plan where I can spend the driver over at ABF's paycheck, I don't care if he makes a million dollars! I am still voting yes, keeping my cushy job, I make enough money, I live modestly, I am keeping my seniority and increasing my 401k contribution with the raise. Best to all of you and I hope everyone votes! If we get less than fifty percent to vote it will be worse than a yes or a no vote in my opinion!
