Holland | We Are Getting The Largest Raise In Ltl History

Of All the LTL freight companies in History
Not 1 has secured a $4 raise and A Week of Vacation (On Day 1)
No it's not Billions more put into an insolvent Pension
Might not be $11 or $12 over the contract
May not even include Ground Hogs Day off but the Largest Raise in LTL History is a step in the right direction to keep over 30000 people employed to support their families
No one is gonna get every single thing we want Right Now but is it worth being at the bottom of somebody's roster having to work a full year to get a week of vacation
Climbing the pay progression scale
Under coworkers our children age in seniority
Many many other points we all can think of
And yet you are still no getting the 15 percent back. The week of vacation was already ours but taken away just as I was to get 5 weeks vacation. And you still are not getting full pension contributions. Also if you are really smart you would know that because of the split raises in 2021 and 2022 you don't get the full 4 dollar raise until the day after the new contract expires in 2024. Sounds like the difference of being a hotel escort or a street crack *****. Sounds like you would take the 4 dollar street rate.

You're not going to get everything you want exactly when you want it in life
Life happens and Adults adjust
Some go to prison
End up without a job and some even dead not understanding that but we can agree to disagree
No sense at going back n forth with you
But Fraternally Brother
Enjoy your Life

You do realize that there is also a good chance they'll be asking for some this back before we even get it right?. When it passes, give it a year.

this is from a 25 yr man the reason for the 4 dollar raise is they are 4 dollars in the hole behind everybody else they keep saying we will be just below abf that is wrong they will keep getting there raises the next 5 yrs putting us still farther in the hole now I will say it is a start in the right direction but we had our meeting yesterday and I say I will still vote no I don't like the 1 dollar it should be at least 2 dollars now then 1 dollar each year no split either then I will vote yes I can still remember giving up 4 dollar all at once over 2 hundred a week also remember the stock they gave us was supposed to make up for the 15% but mine is only worth 160 dollars now after 10 yrs not bad after giving up 120,000 what a deal that was. Now I do like the week I lost getting it back now if they have the money to give the new men 4 to 5 dollars up to full pay then they can give us older folks a little more . I still say they are not going to close up 8 companys they own all at once the banks will not let that happen they will make them sell some companys off to raise money I say call there bluff on the first go around

Not to disagree with you Brother but ABF will be right at $27 at the end of their contract
We will be at $26.12 for the last year of ours, less than a dollar
Our pay was cut about $2.25 when we got the pay cut
We got raises every year after that they took 15% out of, we didn't lose $4 at once But I see your point
Had we gotten 15% at once now it would be about $3.30 with the approximate 35 cents a year raises we were getting
That would put it at $5.05 over the contract
We're getting $4 and the week back right now
About a dollar off
About a dollar less than ABF
I understand where you're coming from but we have a debtload and problems they don't
Just saying

Gotta pace it
Have you gotten your ballot yet, don't forget to vote, it's a yes if you don't vote and you know we don't want that to happen, have a good work week

Let's see here. Plain language. YRC asks us for a return on our pay, takes our Cadillac and gives us a 3 year old car. Then says that we should be happy that they're giving us back part of what they took, a new used car, and we're supposed to fall for it. I think the board of directors, vice presidents, and regional managers will have a lot harder time getting reemployed than us. If the debt was important, the bonuses would have ceased. Let's see if McDonalds needs more management on their payroll. The other LTL companies can't hire them because they pay their drivers. Maybe YRCW has room at a 20% giveback. Let's see.

Don't forget that most of the supervisors, regional directors, upper management fluffers etc, would be unemployable in this or any other job market.

Doesn't matter to bull heads.Take a chance with 25,000 families jobs and insurance because of their brainiac speculation.
When the highest levels of our union tell us they predict a closure as early as Memorial Day. They tell us there is not a penny left to give. That means if we get more it will be coming from someone else.
This isn't the company warning us it's our own Union, people.
