Holland | We Are Getting The Largest Raise In Ltl History

Not as easy as you think. When C.F closed the main ones that took us were Union. Yellow ,Roadway, ABF and Holland.
The non union aren’t going to welcome a bunch of Teamsters that voted themselves out of a job with open arms.
The accounts will be cherrypicked, they will operate at full capacity and half of the x teamsters will be fighting for scraps at a :shit:t job.
Most of them down here work 4 days per week 3 months out of the year.
I honestly would have been gone a long time ago if I felt like you do.Life is too short to be miserable.
This job has provided a respectable living for me and everyone I know.
From where I stand that grass on the other side is only greener because it’s sitting on a septic tank.
had lot of friends at cf they all found jos

The guys working non union jobs aren’t scabs. They are people working jobs to provide for their families. The worst part about our job is the negativity that permeates into our skin from thankless people who aren’t man enough to leave something they claim to hate.Especially when they claim there is so much better out there.
When the freight moves to other companies is when we that don’t want to work for nothing will not miss a days work never ask to to work for the ycc yellow country club but when we close it will assure a full time job

In 5 years this company is closed when the pension funds start going bankrupt and the government take them over the government is coming after yrc Yrc owes the fund 1.2 billion now and in 5 years who knows how much This is a debt and the government will collect and we will go into bankruptcy and close keep living the yellow dream la la land the ycc yellow country club

This is from the above article and something I've been beating a drum about for years.

"YRC’s current conundrum is the legacy of a decades-old mantra of “bigger is better.” The mindset has been that the effect of massive volumes would overcome its inability to raise prices. The message, in no small part, has been hammered home by its big shippers as a rationale for refusing to accept rate increases, one of the executives said. Casting its lot with big accounts also became a vehicle for survival as the company twice has come close to liquidation during the past 10 years, and it needed tonnage at almost any price to keep the revenue flowing."

It may take some time to turn that around, I do think that with tight capacity, the time is ripe and it should be tried very quickly to take advantage of that fact. If no-one else will accept that freight with out a substantial increase, those big shippers will have to pay more. Will some leave and never come back? Possibly, but YRCW can't keep taking on loss or revenue neutral freight just to keep the money flowing.
