Figured I would ask someone here whether ir not this is legit.

There is a driver who volunteers on Saturdays from a different center. He puts himself on our volunteer list at our center. He drives down and takes a run. I have no issue with this. What I do find suspect is he is jumping the domiciled road drivers and somehow gets to use his seniority down here and he gets runs while one of our guys sits at home or he gets better choice. Is this legit? Seems odd to me. I mean if I were to move somewhere I go to the bottom of their board regardless. But according to what's going on here I can take my seniority and leap from a neighboring center and take their runs on a volunteer list? Doesnt seem right to me.

seems 100% shady to me
This guy has convinced a supervisor that this is the rule. It's being looked into because the question has been raised but this guy has been getting runs for sometime now and it was just discovered that hes leapfrogging people. I'll get an answer eventually Just thought I would post on here to satisfy the curiosity because I know there are guys on here that have been doing this longer than I

Yeah, this doesn't sound right. I've thought about doing this too, volunteering at a different center on weekends, but would never expect to "jump" their guys.

One loses seniority by transferring to a different center. Why would one keep seniority by volunteering?

The explanation given is this guy can trump us and bring his seniority with him because he is taking his personal vehicle here. If he was driving a semi down then he cant do it. Seems odd to me

Total equine excrement.

If there are guys volunteering at the center he is pulling runs for, each and every one of them should put a claim in.

The official FedEx Freight weekend volunteer list reads like this: "runs will be offered by seniority in the following order: domiciled road drivers, non-domiciled road drivers, and domiciled city drivers." It makes no mention of non-domiciled City drivers.

Hes a non domiciled road driver

Seniority should apply systemwide IMHO, but I’ve never heard of going to a different barn to sign up for their extra runs.
