Yellow | Why Can't Yrc Compete With Xpo

I’ll compare resume’s with anyone on this board. I’ve worked the dock for years I’ve been a bid holster at a union barn I’ve peddled LTL and Ive done linehaul for both union and non. I’ve worked for P.IE C.F Con-Job which was by far the worst...also YRC and now OD. OD is the best company I have worked for. They treat us as adults. Here’s your work go do it call us if you have an issue. My interaction with dispatch/management probably averages 5 minutes a day. The pay is outstanding at my location. We have big runs tho some locations don’t. It’s true I could get fired tomorrow but I won’t. Management are people just like us and don’t want to fire you unless you beg for it. One driver did something and ripped the lines off his dolley. He dumped his dolley in the pile and grabbed another and didn’t tell anyone or write it up. They fired him. He was a good guy and I liked him but he had it coming you have to report that. As far as healthcare I haven’t used it but I m sure it can’t compare with YRC when I was there from what I’ve heard. No pension but at this point I’d rather have control. The 401 is good and I do have a pension coming from my time in the western teamsters. So to sum up my novel I have a great run 624 miles plus drop and hooks and fueling pay. I am treated like an adult. A fair retirement that I can control. Oh and a 2019 tractor and that helps as well. One last comment. I hated Con-way it was freakin horrible it absolutely was everything bad about non union jobs. OD is nothing like that.
I’m just trying to be objective. I retired from SAIA and had no problems with them until they put in driver facing cameras. I retired soon after that. OD stands alone, I know many that work there. Great company, but like I said I’m was just trying to be objective. I try not to rip any man’s choice of how they chose to make a living these days. There are good and bad to both sides of the union issue. Personally I don’t care anymore. I’ve never lived beyond my means and my 401K and IRA will allow me to live comfortably the rest of my life. Being debt free also helps. Paid a lot of dues to get where I’m at. The point I was trying to make was that the union does have it’s benefits and I can see the appeal and everything the unions bring to the table.

How I feel does not mean squat to anyone.
But I'm gonna say it anyways.
Wherever you pick to work is your own choice.
If your satisfied with it that's a bonus.
I'm not rippin anyone either on their choice of where they work.
Whether it's LTL Walmart McDonald's GM Ford Dodge.
It's an individual choice. And it shouldn't matter to anyone except yourself.
If you don't like it we also have the choice to leave and try another.
That's what makes America. America. Freedom to choose.
Sounds like you hit your pot of gold. Enjoy.

That’s why Wong and I like doing our weekend gig. Especially the Dallas turn. We love coming to your place, and the fabulous dinner your wife makes for us.

I'm retired.
Bring some wrenches and help up bolt our shed together so we can get started on the drywall. All this rain has stalled us from getting that thing put together.
I haven't been back to the terminal in almost 5 months. Trying to keep it that way....

XPO LOGISTICS INVESTIGATION INITIATED By Former Louisiana Attorney General: Kahn Swick & Foti, LLC Investigates the Officers and Directors of XPO Logistics, Inc. - XPO

"The company is completely screwed. To much debt. Jacobs keeps saying it was a malicious short attack. Well, if that's the case why haven't investors found good reason to buy up this stock at such a great discount ? And as bad as it is, imagine how much worse it would be if he hadn't bought back $2 billion dollars worth of stock ? Completely frakked up. He's painted himself into a corner. If he has enough time to wait it out until the paint dries, he can just walk out of it. But time is money. And money is running short. And Jacobs is running things to cover his ass and make HIM the most money. Not for the best interest of the company. So, we will see. Everyone around here feels XPO is less than 12 months from insolvency. There are plenty of articles and analysis available to back these ideas." Quoted from Highspeeds

Imagine if XPO goes bankrupt? YRC could make enormous profits. YRC hired a bunch of their Executives too but now were locked in this contract YRC.

I have yet to see a pay stub of any non-union blowhard to see what they take home. what does 28.88 come to after insurance, 401k, additional premiums for family members etc. Our hourly wage is just what it says it is. The company pays roughly 10.00 per hour for our insurance and although We yrc employees are getting only 25 percent of our pension paid. We still have things like work rules, seniority, overtime after 8 hours grievance rights, guaranteed 40 hour workweek for 90 percent of our seniority board. Add it all up and it equals a better standard of living and working conditions. Non union folks need to wake up and join the Teamsters. because if they take us down guess who's gonna suffer the most. Non union companies only pay what they have to to keep the Teamsters out. If You drive a truck, or work the dock or yard, You are a Teamster. so call Your local union and join today then We can all live better!
As posted on Holland forum couple months ago. 18:30-06:30 M-F $15xx take home. $3500 out of pocket limit(including deductible) family health insurance including vision. 7% out for 401k (3% added by company). Dental premium is in there (2 free cleanings/year). Little to no communication with management. And, just for Wong, 69.78 mph truck.

Hey! Don’t try and steal my partner with those fast trucks. He and I are so popular, that when we hit the Texas state line, the billboards read, Welcome Team Wong-BRG! People even stand off the expressway waving to us when we hit Dallas...

Wow! They must really be desperate for lightbulbs down there....
Statewide, the state of Texas claims a 15 percent shortage of LED lights. Legislators say that they had a consulting firm from Pennsylvania do a study, and it was found that heavy use of lighting on freight docks, may or may not have been responsible...

This is the song YRCF played on the dock as Mystic came to work every day....
