The text from the IBT instructing people to contact their local if they did not get a ballot is proof that the integrity of contract vote was not a priority. Voter credentials should only come directly from a single, secure, verifiable source - a source that has diligently matched each set of credentials to a qualified voter. Obtaining your credentials from somewhere other than directly from the issuer leaves open the possibility that someone can flip your vote at the last minute without your knowledge. Also, giving locals the power to request credentials on their own creates additional ways that the vote can be compromised. In the event of a problem the voter should have been told to contact the credential issuer directly, and if necessary the issuer could contact the Local to help verify the voter. In any case, voter credentials should always be sent directly to the voter to ensure a fair vote. I am hearing of many people that did not receive ballots, possibly enough to alter the outcome of the vote.

I heard 3 million people voted illegally.

Good Luck!

If they didn't get ballots their dues were not up to date I don't understand why the Union hall can't notify you how is this our responsibility when we assume check off process is working?

If you're concerned about voting eligibility it's absolutely your responsibility to make sure you're up to date before the voting takes place. Isn't that the adult way?

The Union hall can be adults too and give it's members a courtesy call let us know were behind on dues most of us assume check off process working or forget about paying dues if laid off on FMLA.

Or, imagine whoever is running the vote contacts the Local to ask for a list of eligible members. The Local has 100 eligible members but only returns a list containing information for 85 members. Shortly before the vote deadline, unknown to the 15 members, the Local requests the remaining voter credentials be sent to the Local where they can do what they please with them. With voter turnout as low as it has been in past Teamster general elections there it's little risk that many members will demand a vote, and even if they did, if someone else saw the key that allowed a member to vote that vote could be flipped at the last moment.

I’m just shocked it passed. Any voter in Central States should have held out for more, IMO. Damn, at least a 401k contribution. Unfortunately, the carrot of a week of vacation back, and a token raise over the lifetime of this contract was too much for them to say NO. Well, enjoy yes voters. Should be absolutely zero complaints from that side. Good nonetheless..

With the mass exodus of drivers leaving 309, I don’t understand why any former union members would even care about the vote or ballots?

they're not going anywhere.. as of today just 2 guys have retired and none have resigned.. just a bunch of blowhards :idunno:
What? You mean you see the same thing as me there daily? People threatening, complaining, saying how much better they would be if they had the guts to tell YRC to shove it. But instead sit In the truck in the yard hiding behind their keyboard posting statements they know they could never fulfill.

We have a tough choice to make could take 7 to 10yrs to get a bid at UPS CACH or Addison but lowest paying bid there pays $90,000 I'm a year away from getting 4 weeks vacation but young enough to put in 20yrs.

If you don’t go, how long will you wonder?

I evaluate based on return on investment.

If you’re happy, stay.

If you’re not, move on!

Or
2 days before the vote
The Wizard of YRC gets the Russians to hack into the system and manually take every 3rd no vote and change it to a yes, except they had trouble unlocking the code in the lone rogue Western Pennsylvania supplemental that slipped through unbenounced to higher level CoOp who was supposed to be on task making sure it didn't happen
See the B 542s who were hired by management to flatten tires, write warning letters and delubricate the trailers (making it hard to crank the dollies) were busy imposing as interviewers intercepting the droves of soon to be former YRC employees, especially the unexpected higher number out of 309 who who all rushed before operations could get in full <block the exodus gear> and all got their interviews set up last week
See this is deeper than you think
The Marines, Zollars, Judy from ABF and the security guy at the gate(who's really a spy) all have their hands in this one

We'd love to see you make $90000
That's 3x more than a poverty stricken YRC driver can make working 14 hour shifts
And almost twice as much as an ambitious interviewer in ChicagoLand
How is the decision tough on such green grass, that wouldn't be astro turf would it
7 to 10 years to get a bid or 15 years by the end of this contract in the belly of the debts of hell at YRC where everyday for 5 more years your life is just going to be more miserable by the day
Let go if your inhibitions
You can do this
The years of abuse at YRC is what's giving you doubt but Stockholm is more mental than physical
Run out them open gates and never look back
Remember THEY DIDN'T PAY THE RATE
