XPO | Little Stuff...

Interesting. I wonder to who ? And what is the benefit ? And how many terminals did they do that with ? When XPO bought us they closed several leased terminals for financial reasons. Of course, that was before this whole thing imploded.
Probly to a subsidiary that can depreciate it while XPO writes off the rent. Big business. More time and energy dicking around than actually conducting business.

I just can’t see taking that big of a cut in pay for that much additional stress...
Well , you can never get a straight answer from one of these people , but I was told compensation is based on an average of your best three months or weeks - I can't remember which.

Please chime in if you know for sure...

No idea, my basis for judgement is the pay scale for FOS old Con-way system.

I was always surprised when drivers went to management. They were always good drivers too. The only reason I could see it making sense was more regular hours and less punishing on your body.
Most I have known either had an issue with there CDL or DOT physical and going management was a way to stick around.

This man is so full of :::shit:::...it's amazing. The change he's fantasizing about is the Ceva model. 3PL, asset light company. No benefits, no disability insurance, no equipment maintenance, no PTO liabilities, no fuel costs...no nothing. Line Haul eliminated by sub service carriers, dock positions filled by employment agencies and P & D runs carried out by lease purchase operators. For younger guys, I'll suggest getting out while you still can. For senior guys, I don't care how corrupt you believe the Teamsters may be...a union contract will save your job. The handwriting is on the wall. Do something!
Thats exactly right, he wants to run a trucking company with no trucks, no fuel costs, no building costs, this is a f**kin shyster

There is Jacobs hopes and dreams. And already they have greased the wheels in Florida. Some retarded politician has made it law that computer driven trucks need no pilot or regulation. Brilliant. ( sarcasm ) Wait until the first person dies from one of these things.

And for the first and last mile someone remote pilots the vehicle from an office some where. Here is your future. I wonder if the people of Florida know this is even happening.

The word is they wanted to cut $15 million in spending to make the numbers look better to investors. My guess dunnage got cute along with everything thing else. Take a look around a lot has been cut.
Trust and believe that I see the penny pinching. But vanishing dunnage makes no sense because it's specifically for our company to use. It doesn't wear out that fast.

It only has real value to XPO LTL. This seems more like **** poor management of the resources of the company. Could it all be stockpiled at end-of-the-line terminals and just not being rerouted back into the system?

Management has told lower level management to just do their best without dunnage.
Inf_ckingcredible.

Then the higher-ups will complain about damages.

It’s possible to some extent it’s holed up somewhere but I also know it takes a :shit:load of replenishing to keep it current. I think it’s getting crunched up pretty good by inexperienced people and replacement isn’t keeping up with destruction. I don’t think we have ever seen cuts as deep as were seeing currently in the past. We’re in a new zone.

Good point. I've wondered what the life expectancy is of one of the dunnage decks. Occasionally , I still see some with Con-way molded on them.

Sooooooo , where is all of the dunnage? Anyone?
I take a few stacks of deck boards with me to the FAC if I run a empty trailer. It gets backed in as an empty and I grab some for me and my sector. It’s like Christmas! One FAC we run to doesn’t want dunnage on the dock. It looks messy? If we all brought some with us in an empty(if you have any mt’s running), that would help. I know it’s appreciated when I bring some.

It makes as much sense as cutting everything else. E-deck system unusable. No shrink wrap. No wheel chocks. We are running out of trash cans. No paper towels. Bring your own toilet paper.

How close are we to the end ? Sure feels very close. Look at other companies closing shop. It’s not helping us any. Where is all that freight going ? While we keep losing customers ?
