Averitt | Quiet Lately

I agree with Company Man on the 72 cents and disagree with the middle of the pack comment in pay. We are at the bottom the companies that Company man listed. App 6 to 8 cents behind. One day soon maybe AVERITT will do a correction in pay.

We are at the bottom of the bigs, I'll give you that. Some of the mom and pops pay less.

One thing I would like to see change is the lack of any drop and hook pay. An extra stop at Chicago for instance pays about 10 miles more but adds an hour plus to your day.

Our equipment is top notch, our management leaves us to do our job, the job is gravy, and the money ain’t bad. It’s all good over here at big red.

I try to put myself in the position of a Truckload driver who's calling the job hotline everyday looking for open shuttle positions so he can get where I'm already at. It helps keep things in perspective.

You must be in truckload division. LTL doesn't give that flexability.. Tractors are topnotch though.

I can speak only for KNX, if I wanted to I could go a month without talking to a member of management. I'm not that way but KNX management allows us to do our job without any "supervision" for lack of a better word. Be on time, arrive on time and don't crash or physically hurt yourself.

I started part time on the dock in 95, yard, city, shuttle, and now running. Team shuttle. I’ve never had any leaders micro manage me.

Averitt has great equipment however so do all of the other companies NOW. Most of them are faster than our trucks.
Unless I do something to get fired (you fire yourself at Averitt) I plan on retiring here. I am only pointing out areas that I believe we could improve in.

Great for you & your location !!!
According to your earlier post, we run out of the same svc. I transferred in about a year ago. It’s funny that I’ve never talked with, or met either of the svc directors that have been at hou since I got here.

Hmmmm !!!! Really ??????? Hou...... Well this leads me to maybe believe based on you previous comments as well.

Name one, I know drivers at all LTL competitors and if they agree you get your cash, but I know what they make and it is not .72 or plus.
Not 72 plus but 6,7,8and 9 cents more per mile with faster trucks. At 2500 miles at .68 a week the difference is app $8,000.00 a year.

Damn , is Averitt that bad ? Been working here n Houston (LTL) for a year.. Not sure if this is my final stop.. Mixed feelings about this place . Some good, some not so good. Looking at other options as well... Been on shuttle/linehaul for 3 months after 9 months being a city driver..
I was in HOU from the start and left after 19 years. Had I been younger than I was, I would have left long before. Left in Jan. of 2015 and never looked back. Truly wish I had left sooner.

It's the bottom of the pay scale no matter the raise and it really is a small company that thinks they are all that
(which they are not).

I wish you well. I suppose Brandon, Jeff, Shane, Scotty, etc. are still there. Do not miss that disaster on JFK one bit.
