and how did that work out for them. The failure of the Teamsters to change and grow with the changing trucking industry has put them in the state that they are. The only ones to blame for the unions failure is themselves

And a large amount of union busters and republican lawmakers making states right to work.....

I live in a very heavy trucking and warehousing area. Even with the closing of NEMF they are still running WE ARE HIRING ads on TV. Even with the closing of NEMF who's barn was about 10mins from ABF and still no takers. In there ad they show the pay rate and the health benefits are fully paid by the company. Should I also mention about the trailer parked out front with the WE ARE HIRING sign on it. It's been there for the last 5yrs. Now alot of those near by companies pay alot less and some even have worst benefits then we have at XPO. Yes I remember the days when if you got into one of those union LTL barns you were set for life. Not any more. They are paying into a pension fund that is expected to be out of money by 2025. Speaking of NEMF I know for a that 10 drivers went to Estes to work. Not ABF or YRCW which is hiring to. This has nothing to do with the so called driver shortage, but more with drivers don't believe in what the union is selling. As far as I know FXF, Estes, and XPO in my area is not hiring.

And that trailer will be there another 5 years, they want the best of the best....Why do you keep using central states pension? You have been reminded many times on here that everyone is not in Central states, but that fits with your union bashing agenda. As far as FXF, Estes & Xpo not hiring maybe ABF is taking your freight & need people, ever think of that? After reading some of the posts on here Brad doesn’t seem to want it anymore....

Majority rule. If the majority doesn’t want vote it out.
Believe you won’t find too many who receive union benefits reject them along without paying the dues. They will take the good and not pay dues . It has nothing to do with fairness. It has all to do with underfunding unions.

That was my point. Union ALLOWED the double breasting to go on and tried to make it look reasonable. I knew the heyday of the Teamsters was over when CFCC was allowed to work through the last National Strike. I'm not anti union or pro union. I think it is an institution founded on good intentions and goals that got corrupted by politics, money, & power. I was a teamster and work for a non union carrier now and have seen both sides up close.

Ted Decker , perfectly stated. I my self am both non anti or pro being a former teamster of 27 years in Car Hauling & LTL freight.

well the are in the CSPF that's why? Last thing I read said it would be broke by 2025. It's not just CSPF there are others going broke and reducing pay outs just google it.
 
This thread is about positive changes . I suggest we not turn it towards stuff that should be in the union thread. We can elaborate on it there.
