How long can the company string along new cdl drivers before putting them on the list ? Is it 30 days (working) or some other unknown date. What recourse do these employees have to get put on the list if they want to work full time ? Can they force management to put them on the list somehow ?

Maybe / Maybe not. Read there new Yrc Freight National Contract. To see if there is a provision there on this.

Or check with your local/ See if there a is local rule on this.

Where u apply at?

I thought new hires were eighty percent first year, 90 percent second year and full pay third year?

I wondered why they even want the ability to hire casuals with their difficulties hiring drivers. You would think they would have regionally adjusted higher pay rates for areas like Chicago where they can’t find anyone. Why not start everyone at 100% also?

Don't know IF its at all terminals or our family of companies , but at Holland we are giving full pay after 30 days and they only have to pay $25.00 to join Union , where us Senior guys had to wait 3 yrs for full pay and pay $300.00 to join union , it seems its all about screwing the senior guys and giving $$$$ to all the new guys .......................

How is it "screwing the senior guys"? You're getting paid exactly what's contractually required. What difference does it make what someone else gets? Stop being such a big crybaby. There was a time when everyone - even casuals - got paid scale for every day they worked. It was those wonderful "senior guys" who voted for "progression" for the new guys because it didn't affect them. So much for "brotherhood". Get a grip.

I guess I misunderstood when I read through that 31 pages. I do have more and more difficult of a time remembering things. I tell stories at family gatherings and my little great nephews and nieces are looking up what I say on their smart phones and correcting me all afternoon, it takes the fun right out of telling tall tales!

No more fairytale goodnight stories for the ungrateful little whippersnappers.

My younger learned early of the Santa Claus dilemma. I explained that if he doubted the existence, then why have presents? He is a spirited believer to this day!

Encourage indulgence!
