XPO | Washing Equipment And Taking Pride

If its gonna be nice on Saturday morning I would bring my power washer to work with me after I got done dropping on sat morning I would scrub my truck down
One company I work for would pay to have the truck washed once a month a basic wash. Sometimes I would pay for and extra wash during that month. I also paid to have the engine wash every time the truck was washed. The truck show signs of wear and use but I drove it for 2yrs and it never let me sit on the sit of the road.

So they want us to wear uniforms but they won’t replace them when they wear out ? And Brad and crew just doubled their base salaries.

Nope. Came on the conference call he had. Also suspended ordering replacement uniforms too.
Told my tm ripped the ass out of 3 pair of pants he told me he couldn't order me new uniforms so I called our regional mgr told him the same story and I have no problem wearing them to work by the way I don't wear underwear so my ass will hanging out he ordered me 3 pants and 3 shorts had them in 10 days

I wonder if they are waiting to close this down when the recession hits ? Or they are waiting for the recession to find a sucker to sell this to ? The prominent feature of every economic downturn in trucking has been consolidation. And we have already lost some companies this year. We are on the edge of something.

I think they truly want to make a go at it with running the stock price up by any means. That’s what they do. One part of the equation is to entice prospective investors with best in the industry operating ratios . The other is to keep expanding the size through buying more companies . This how we got wrapped up in this hot mess. Right now their fearing a buyout because of the low stagnant stock price. Their in a difficult position right now. No new large influx of investors for the most part. All they can do is keep cutting cost.

Really, that's a big contradiction philosophically. They were in roll up phase and not spending a penny on assets. Employees on all levels including top brass have bailed. Little to nothing spent on terminal and equipment maintenance. The most valuable resources have been wasted. At the cost of customers and investors. And now they want to build it up ? How ? Continue to cut cost on something that requires investment just to maintain ? The easiest thing for him to do is get back to what he does best. Asset light. Eliminate the LTL. That is his path to investors and future growth.

Yes I have paid for a truck wash out of my own pocket. I guess I took some pride in the truck I drove. While working for that company I was the ONLY one to drive the truck, if I was off or on vacation the truck sat. Unlike this place were different drivers drive the trucks. Yet they wander why the trucks don't last. I share with a city driver and both of us keep the inside clean and rinse off the outside from time to time.

Nothing wrong with that I just wouldn’t drop a dime out of my pocket to wash their trucks. Sorry if It came off sounding bad it just my opinion.

Finally seeing fresh paint on wheels when tires are changed out. Good job XPO! Now if we can just see chassis on trailers with a fresh coat of paint to make equipment look more appealing instead of weathered, rusty, and worn out would be nice. Image sells! Think Brown (washed and painted) or OD (impeccable TV ads).
