XPO | Lay Off At Nnc

I don't know enough about your company to say its in the toilet or not, but what I can say is that freight is slow over at FXF as well.
I think they all over hired due to the Trump effect thinking there was going to be this big shipping boom which IMO never transpired. While I think bringing manufacturing to America is great in theory, but the infrastructure just isn't there. I read it would take approximately 7 years to put that into practice ie: trained workers, facilities ect.
I'm afraid there is going to be a purge throughout to shake the dead weight. Very sad and poorly planned

We were told driver lay offs.
They laid off I think six earlier in the year at my terminal, dock workers, not drivers. I don't think they were laid off for long. Things have been wierd this year for sure. Seems like we are busy one week and slow the next. I don't know what to think anymore. I think with the election coming up next year it's going to get worse.

No fac, a dark terminal. I believe there are other motives, as for drivers, we are the illegitimate bastards of the company, just here trying to rip it off at every turn.

While THEY are literally and deliberately ripping the company off at every turn.

The election, and they economy. Eventually, this thing is going to collapse/correct. Liquidity is all messed up. They are using every tool in the arsenal. But it's not going to stop this from happening. 10 years of growth. It's a lot to reign in.

You bring up a good point though. At the terminals where drivers were let go, we they let go before dockhands ? Or are these locations without dockhands ?

We just hired two drivers (still training them) and need a few more dock workers.

We can't keep any one. So it's hard for me to gauge anything. Just hired a new personnel supervisor. So hopefully that works out. And if we all have jobs come bid season. It will be chaos again, dealing with someone completely new trying to manage a bid for 115 drivers. If we even still have that many drivers. Of course. And they did send almost all of our rental vans back. But we have lost a bunch of customers. Please, stop tearing up freight. People are leaving us for Central Transport. Seriously. Not that we can do much about it with an e-deck system that's un-useable and no dunnage. But really. It's not even just damaging the freight any more. It's that we are destroying the freight. And showing up late all the time. Service failures. People calling in hounding the office staff wanting to know where we are and, oh.... it'll be there.... tomorrow.

But it's all good. Tony Brooks said we are going to be the number one trucking company !!!!

"People are leaving us for Central Transport"

The damages won't stop. Showing up late for appointments won't stop. Ignoring doing right by drivers and customers won't stop.

Why? Because there are NO consequences to the people doing the money grab. ZERO.

Until the ownership/ upper management feels some type of pain from the money grab , the money grab will roll on.

By the way , I know it's a business and a business should set out to make money. If you run a business the wrong way , you can get to a place where you are stepping over dollars to pick up pennies.

At my barn they just hired a bunch of dock hands then layed off drivers

Yes, we have dock hands and the drivers were let go before them. No dock lay offs.

Our dock hands work a split shift, both inbound and outbound.

Is the bid process still the same? It was called JSP (job selection process). My first time filling it out, I was aghast that there were actually 48 start times (every 15 minutes of every hour)!! I said to our TM: “Are you honestly telling me there’s an 03:45 start time?”
