Yellow | Network Optimization?!

It's not a exactly a merger, it's call taking over their freight and rebranding all regionals as YRC Freight. Be patient, COO being draft for the Union to review, all software being integrated, ordering extra supplies, renegotiating contracts with vendors, etc, etc...
If the computers crash again being integrated blanking out the trailers YRC is finished.

Havent we all done this before?

How much are they paying out on Purchased Transportation run around claims every week system wide? I know a few drivers collecting 15 to 25hrs every week they come off rest terminal sends purchased transportation loads to Chicago they wait up to 18hrs+ get layover pay, meal, and runaround claim week after week.

Do the forklifts on the dock have side mirrors and visors??
Took the mirrors off years ago. Saftey hazard. Seriously.
It probably one of the dumbest things they did.
Bottom of the list dumb. Still dumb and just done out if spite.
They like hearing complaints. Mirrors worked. And kept people safe.

I'm not defending any one, I can however see their point about the mirrors. You really don't get a good field of view with them, I think it's better if you actually turn around and look.

We had the convex mirrors on them. We had an excellent feild of view with them. And we did move our heads along with using the mirror. It helped. Once they took them off there was a big difference.
Consider taking the passenger side mirror off your tractor.. Similar.. And just a comparison. You could glance at the mirror as you turned your head that way.
You could see in the mirror something was there before you had your head fully turned. Trust me. It was a saftey issue. Taking them off hurt more than helped.
They said it took our field of view looking forward away. They have scale readouts that are in the way too. But they left them on.

I understand.
But I know a guy who was backed into a pole just outside a trailer after the mirrors came off. Two sides to every story. Inside his leg right at the knee. Took it down to the bone. Peeled the skin and muscle right off. Needless to say he is retired full Benny's. I would have sued. But he did not want to get the guy who hit him in trouble.
Ya. He kept his job. Anyone else would have been fired and I personally would have sued both for frickin up my life. It was bad. He suffered. Still does.
