FedEx Freight | Very Low Frieght

Freight hasn't slowed down much for dock and local, now line hauls getting cut every night, and being told it's slow, it's not, 8 pt's in 8 pt's out, that accounts for our line haul slowdown
So, coo next ? I'm guessing if you keep your ears open you'll hear lots of stuff you dont wanna hear

Where are those PTs coming from and where are they going? It’s makes all the difference.

They damn well better consider a COO! I could see if this was an anomaly, but this has been going on for a few months at my barn. Do they prefer to starve out drivers? Im no prognosticator, but if it aint busy now, it damn sure aint gonna be in the near future.

I just spoke to a very well informed friend that works for your company about this very situation this afternoon. The service center in our conversation was authorized to staff up due to another center to be built in the area. They've delayed the start of construction on the new center creating an over staffing problem. Your company is known for trying to keep drivers working rather than layoff. They have the philosophy that the employees they've hired have worth to the company and it would be a waste of money to lose them. So instead they will try to keep everyone working and keep the overtime down to prevent layoffs. If it would have been another company, there would have been layoffs at the get go.

No, FedEx motto “like it or lump it”
Or “don’t like it, go to XPO”

No, that used to be our motto, back when we real men lead the way...now it’s, “we’re so sorry if we offended or hurt your feelings. Can we still be friends if we cook you a hotdog and let you have Friday off??”

Sheeeeit! What barn u working at. It use to be that way up until a year ago but I guess it’s not everywhere. I haven’t had a FXF steak or hotdog in about 2 years

If times are that hard, I know a guy looking for a caddy.
Before (Hat Man) chimes in, you will be required to keep his balls clean.

My post wasn’t so much a reflection on local management, rather on the direction of the company as a whole...
How is this post?

Red has a point. when you go to mgmt with ideas, suggestions, safety issues, payroll problems, benefits issues etc. and they want to pass off to next guy, its creates where we are today. you get what you give and in my center our local mgmt checked out a while ago, so in turn the drivers have checked out thus creating the ::shit:: show we have and no one in upper mgmt wants to take the time to address it and yes we have tried to do it professionaly and bombed out.
when the company treats there own(mgmt) like ::shit:: , this is what you get. take away there bonus and no pay raise.I DON"T BLAME them for not caring anymore
over and out

Oh please. I’m the coolest poster on this site. Jeff even lets me monetize my posts.....
Coolest because your truck seat is a 30 QT,air ride yeti, packed with ice and capriotti’s, and your hat has a 12,000 BTU air conditioner....

Jeff said, I look the coolest, and best looking Coop driver.

I hear they want to ban OJ from Twitter, I think Jeff could have grounds here!!
Boy, what a letdown, I had you pictured with a slim, trim physique, like Billy, man was I fooled.

This seems to be absolutely true. I don't keep up with this daily, but most recently when asking inbound supervisor about the actual freight level, it's up year over year. Even said to have had record day recently.

Most recent quarterly report shows the same. Revenue per ship, up. Average daily ships, up.

Since the report, things may be flat, compared to record setting past months. Very likely SHORT of projected levels. The big difference for most locations seems to be staffing. They finally are fully staffed - for the time being, as evidenced by the short list of internal job openings. Only (literally) a couple of driver positions open, system wide.

As noted by others, certain lanes are up, while others are down. Also, most city drivers are thrilled to be rid of the 12-14 hr days, while others long for and expect them.
Yup. Our bills are less than this time last year but our PU are way more.
