Marty Fox , a road driver out of Atlanta ,took his last trip after 17 years and passed away unexpectedly at the age of 55 in the hotel in Orlando. Details are sketchy at this time, but I would like to believe he passed in his sleep as has been reported. Marty was a friend to all, always with that big smile. He worked hard to provide for his wife and children and he will be sorely missed....he worked at CF , I believe before coming over to ABF.....This just happened yesterday , Wednesday, and I am still in disbelief. Prayers to your family Marty,, you've done all you can do brother.. RIP.....

Sad....rip brother

Marty always liked to talk football when we ran into each other in Orlando and always had a smile on his face. R.I.P Brother....

RIP Marty. If it is the Fox I knew from CF, we would talk in Miami when he came in and Then at ABF in Miami when he came in. Talked to him a few times since then, here in Georgia. Hell uv a nice guy. We will miss him.

Marty was a good guy. Its been reported that he was found at the foot of the stairs leading to the swimming pool at the motel in Orlando. The desk clerk found him. I would assume that because no one heard him callout that he went quickly. He leaves behind at least 2 children and a younger wife. He will be missed.

Marty turned 60 a couple of weeks ago, according to one of our union stewards.

Well,....even 60 is too young....

I read a statistic years ago, that said the "average" truck driver retires,..gets three pension checks,...and dies.......
Pretty grim,.......and I think it was "Overdrive" or "Landline",...or some other driver-oriented magazine, ....trying to make the point about the high stress levels, unhealthy lifestyles, lack of Circadian rhythms for sleep,....coupled with the extremely high Occupational Fatalities reported to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.......

This is a .......rough job,......and, having done it,......everyone who still is doing it has my complete Professional Respect.
We may not agree on things,.....but I certainly respect the Professional part of every driver on here....

And,....Hopefully,....Someday,....there might be some recognition of ....how hard,..on families, your life in general,...this occupation is.

Like no other......

And it's a shame that men like Marty have to pass away prior to retirement.........
