XPO | New England Speeding Policy

Just out of curiosity - What is the speeding policy for those that have a company car with XPO?

Hilldonkulass, there is rumors of top brass doing DUI in company vehicle and still here. I do not have prove of this, But it is DSR underground legend.

Lmao, looking like they are pushing the union debate into a new era. Last big
push happened when the cameras came into effect. Greys are digging there own graves. Roflcopter!
The New England pilot policy didn’t work out because too many drivers were on the verge of being fired for too many over speeds (at least that’s what I was told). With a driver shortage in most areas, I don’t think any discipline for speeding is a good idea. Union or not.

Just done a safety meeting in my region. Five strikes in one year for over speed, you gone. Let the sunshine roll in. Hammer down, America demands it freight on time and damage free!

Yup, every line haul driver should over speed ten plus times every week. Till the grace period expires, and continue. Honestly, we should be at seventy five, hammer down .

I really think they don't care about one time. They just wish they could get it all at the same time and damage free. Yea we know that a pipe dream here. Get part of it one day the rest 3-4 days later and both are damaged

We never asked for the truck to do 70mph they gave it to us. What did they think would happen. I was fine with 65mph I just didn't want the balls cut out of the motor. Just give the HP and torque the motor had.

It was a joke. At my barn we heard someone had 9 over speeds, could be rumored but very likely the way this person drove.

Seems to me I remember a bunch of guys saying how much they loved it. Now their on the verge of losing their jobs and they now say never wanted it .:duh:
Seems as if they gave you guys something with the 70mph and then laid down more ways to get fired with it. I think you would have been better with 65 and a less aggressive speeding policy. I Think me and others raised this point earlier but it was widely rejected.
Now starting August 3 there’s a new policy that lays down a new strike policy for you guys.
Good luck with that.

So when you are going 70 on the pa turnpike where the speed limit is posted at 70mph, you would have to be going 80.1mph or faster to get disciplined. I don’t see that happening (going that fast).
I have yet to see the new policy, but I keep it within the limits of whatever policy is in place.
I like the ability to set the cruise at 70mph but do it only when road conditions and traffic allow it.
I don’t want to see anyone lose their job over this, but I know it will happen.

On the hills. These guys like to let it roll. And it's hard to convince them not to.

There is a stretch of 70 near Washington, PA that is posted 45 mph and everyone hammers down through it. Some old habits will have to change.

Yes I would have to be going over 80mph for 10sec for the camera to record it. The gong sound from the EOBR in my truck goes off at around 73mph. I driver a 2011 truck, a real truck with a manual trans. when I have the cruise set at 70 and have the engine brake on the engine brake will start to come on automatically at 73mph without me doing anything like touching the brakes. Starts at low and works it way up to high when it hits 75mph. The gong sound to me means time to slow the f##k down. Now I not sure how the lazy man trucks work, the automatics, but I do know that anytime the trans is in auto mode and the engine brake is off the truck will go into a coast mode, meaning NOT in a gear. The few time I have driven them I put the trans in manual mode and I don't have that problem.

When they first started tracking speed they did a test at one of the FAC we run. I heard that they were clocking driver doing 90+ on I-80 in PA some were even putting there manual trans truck into neutral and coasting down hills.

I was told by a senior that back in the day (CCX time) they had a 70mph speed discipline. He told me that a driver came down the hill at Port Jervis on I84 out of NY and was clocked by a cop doing 100mph and that's when the 70mph ban went into effect. He said it was back when they were driving the Ford L-8000 trucks. Nothing like putting your life into Sir Issac Newtons hands

Yes I remember that section. Now I don't run on that stretch since my leash doesn't let me go that far off the porch

I love the fact the policy is posted above a sign that says ‘please flush’...
