OR down into the Old Dominion range. More shipments, that weigh less, but we charge more. What can you say but those ATL boys know their stuff. Of course, we can do better.

Yea,that OR number looks pretty good compared to yalls normal one when it used to be in the mid-nighnties. I mean,I wouldn't go to trying to compare it to OD cause were in the upper seventies, ours was a 77.9 this last quarter. But good try.

Just means the screws are going to get a little tighter, happens every time. Dracula’s right, prepare to hear the “do better” drum.

Years ago, it used to be you’d hear said management say things like “OD must be manipulating the numbers because that type of OR isn’t realistic in LTL...”. I wonder what they are saying now?

That one is easy. 89 OR was yesterday, what are you doing for me today?

I was there for 6 years from 05 to 11 and they never came even close to the 80's. And as far as the stress that goes with the 77 or number, our drivers dont have to continuously look over our shoulders to see when were gonna be called into the office for the camera staring at us going down the Rd on our phones with our bluetooths. I believe the Saia drivers have a ton more stress about their jobs than OD drivers do.

When saia was owned by Preston...it was the cash cow for the Preston corp...it operated in the 80s...

True
Man, you’re so right.

No cameras, nice equipment, nice facilities, treated with respect, & happy customers. It’s truly awful.
SAIA is a good company and is moving in the right direction. Once their expansion is complete they could give OD a run for their money but as of right now there is no comparison. OD beats them in every category except maybe OT after 45 and a better healthcare plan for less money. As a retired SAIA driver I can tell you SAIA is good. But OD is better.

I wouldn’t get cocky because it’s only a matter of time before you get those cameras in your face. It’s inevitable. Insurance companies are demanding them and OD will eventually get them.

Well,OD is not the type of company that will turn their backs on the drivers. They may go with the cameras, but I would almost guarantee you that they would never keep us from doing the things that were allowed to do that's not against the law.

It’s not being “cocky” it’s simply the truth.

I ran line for both and anyone who has knows it’s true. We both know it’s not the cameras that did Saia in but how they used them against everyone.

Btw Rat, OD is self insured.

Most LTL companies have a cap of around 5 million even being self insured. They have insurance of some sort they are paying for. You made a good move, don’t get me wrong.

Never say never, being in LTL for 45 years taught me that.

That’s the damn truth. They ruined a great company with those ridiculous policies. I’m so glad I retired before I had to **** someone up.
